GOP wants to remove the Fed money cannon they loaded up with $3T last spring, but save the temporary lending facility that lets companies offload their crap derivatives on the Fed balance sheet.

Arizona charter school got a PPP loan,

    gave $10 million to shareholder

Primavera online charter school, like many businesses this spring, sought help from the federal Paycheck Protection Program to weather the economic disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chandler, Arizona, school received a PPP loan of nearly $2.2 million, the largest forgivable loan among the 132 Arizona charter schools that obtained them.

But Primavera's loan appears to have been more of a bonus than a lifeline.

The school, which like all Arizona public schools didn't lose state funding because of the pandemic,

ended its fiscal year on June 30 with $8.8 million in the bank – almost double the annual payroll costs for its 85 teachers,

The school also shipped $10 million to its lone shareholder:

StrongMind, an affiliated company owned by Primavera's founder and former CEO Damian Creamer.

Creamer controls both Primavera and StrongMind, noting

he has "the ability to influence the school's operations for the benefit of StrongMind."

Primavera paid StrongMind nearly $23 million this past fiscal year for software and curriculum services, records show.

the overwhelming majority of the Arizona charter schools that obtained PPP loans didn't need the money.

there are numerous problems with fully funded charter schools getting PPP loans intended to help struggling businesses.

"The PPP loans are taxpayer dollars intended to help the needy, not the greedy,"

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...or/3991035001/

A unique example, or repeated across the country for non-profit / for-profit charters controlled by Capitalists?

In short, you let the government lock you down and now you're dealing with the consequences. I believe your crew even cheered on the lockdowns.

if mass evictions come to pass, Biden could be politically sunk within 6-12 months.

come big or don't come at all.

The latest data from the Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey, taken between November 25 and December 7, found that 35.3 percent of U.S. adults are "living in households not current on rent or mortgage where eviction or foreclosure in the next two months is either very likely or somewhat likely."

The survey found that residents of Washington, D.C. are the most likely to face eviction or foreclosure, with 67.3 percent of adults living in households where the prospect is at least somewhat likely. States with a majority of adults also likely to lose their homes include South Dakota, South Carolina, Georgia and Oregon.

very freaky, RGV front line health care providers shun vaccine

So many workers at a hospital in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley declined the new COVID-19 vaccine that the facility offered doses to other medical workers in the region. Many showed up, but so did a state lawmaker, a police officer and a sheriff’s deputy who weren’t on the state’s priority list for vaccination.

Hospitals across Texas began to receive the first batches of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine over the last several days. Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, one of the Texas facilities hardest hit by the virus this year, received 5,850 doses of the vaccine.

State guidelines say these initial batches should go to front-line health care workers. But how the actual distribution works may look different from facility to facility as each interprets those state recommendations.

Dr. Robert Martinez, the DHR Health chief medical officer, said hospital officials prioritized employees considered in the first tier for a dose, like hospital staff who work directly with COVID-19 patients and long-term care workers. But administrators realized not enough people eligible for the vaccine were initially going to opt to get it, Martinez said.
“You start to see similar numbers across the country, all this mistrust and misinformation,” he said.

Initially, about 40% to 60% of people who answered a hospital survey said they’d get the vaccine, Martinez said. The lower-than-expected vaccine adoption rate was first reported by The Monitor.

Everyone's favorite senator, Ted Cruz, voted against the stimulus bill. Now that Trump is on his way out he is a deficit hawk.

He had no problem with the tax cuts or the wasteful wall funding or the huge military budgets... but they've crossed the line with stimulus to ordinary people in a crisis. LMAO

Only silver lining in this bill is that it makes it easier for Ornoff and Warnock to take the GA seats.

stimulus bill extends moratorium on evictions, but even before the earlier moratorium was done, renters were being evicted. That's not on Trump or Biden, it's lawless landlords. Biden has to make clear that evictions are illegal for now

I've read about landlords forcing tenants out by making/allowing the premises uninhabitable, not fixing plumbing, not exterminating vermin, etc. in the eviction moratorium.

pelosi should 100% follow through with this. either the checks increase to 2k, or it falls squarely on mcconnell. if its just lip service and pelosi doesnt follow through, then she's a failure
