Give Sark credit for Jones development at QB. IMO that is where Texas trails OU QB.

Disagree. He drug the Bama offense into the modern era - Pro-Spread with an aggressive downfield passing attack
and he drug Nick Saban along with him.
    that’s pretty impressive

The same Nick Saban that said there are too many plays run in college football with the hurry up offense and it’s causing too many injuries

at the same time he is saying that the SEC is the roughest hardest hitting conference, and throwing the football is for sissies

    ing hypocrite

Here’s hoping that he can bring in a qualified OL coach. It’s been a while since we had one

I really believe coach Strong was a good man who just couldn't get the program going. He wanted to do things the right way.

TH just came off as a dirtbag pretty much the entire time he was there. Did not watch more than maybe two quarters of UT football the entire season. I'm a UT grad, but the BS coming from TH - I simply could not stomach it.

It tells you something about Urban Meyer too entertaining the idea of replacing one of his own coaches. Not a good look.

I hope the new coach can minimize the stupid mistakes, bring in top tier quarterbacks, and coach up the OL to an adequate standard.

    From BurntOrangeNation:
The premier name is Kyle Flood, the former Rutgers head coach who worked with Sarkisian with the Falcons before joining him in Tuscaloosa. It was Flood who helped convinced the Brockermeyer brothers to spurn their Texas ties and sign with Alabama. As an offensive line coach, Flood would represent a home-run hire, but he could also serve as Sarkisian’s offensive coordinator, a le he held at Rutgers before taking over the program.

    From IT:

Here's what we are hearing (Sark staff)

With Stave Sarkisian expected to be officially announced as the next head coach at Texas, here is what we are hearing on potential coaches on the staff.

    *A.J. Milwee - QB coach
Two years of analyst tutelage from Sarkisian at Alabama.

    *Stan Drayton - RB coach

    *Keary Colbert - WR coach
Currently the WR coach at USC

    *Jeff Banks - TE/Special teams
Currently TE/Special teams coach at Alabama

*Kyle Flood or Brad Davis - OL
Flood is currently the OL coach at Alabama, but is expected to be up for NFL OL jobs.
Brad Davis is currently the OL coach at Arkansas. Davis is highly thought of to the point of Alabama trying to hire him in the last two years.

*Chris Ash or Will Muschamp - DC
Chris Ash Co-DC and Mike Stoops Co-DC/OLB's
Mike Stoops is currently an analyst at Alabama.

Will Muschamp would retain Coleman Hutzler as LB coach.

    *Bo Davis - DL
Currently the DL coach of the Detroit Lions

Keep in mind these are all potential candidates.

I think Ash should be retained. He did a solid job and the Defense was doing really good by the end of the year.

Bobby Burton said Muschamp is a no go as he is hearing that he will be the DC at Georgia eventually.

How can you not like Sam? The guy is tough as nails and I wish him the best at the next level. That said, it is the right move for the program also to turn the page and give guys a fresh start. I can barely think of anyone on the roster whose starting job is truly set in stone for next season except Bijon Robinson at RB.

I love the idea of retaining Chris Ash and the defensive staff. i also love the idea of upgrading the the offensive staff, what I don't want is anything to do with Mike Stoops. He sucks eggs, he was protected by Bob and given credit that was due for Brent Venerables. The dude is nothing short of a poser.

Sam is a throwback. He would be an NFL HOF QB 50 years ago. Tough as nails, adequate passer for that time frame, scratch that he would be a great passer for that time frame. But in this day and age, he is not not what the game requires from a QB.

His quotes: "Texas is a program that I've always liked since a kid, now that Coach (Steve) Sarkisian is going there I'm interested to see if they can bring the tradition back to a respectable program that can contend for championships. If so I would give them a shot to recruit me."

    totally agree

assistant coaches just being shucked because the head coach is fired seems rash
I understand incoming coaches want their own buddies that they may have promised something to. Sarkisian needs to have a good sit down with Ash and go over the season, then I hope he comes around to seeing the possibilities.

sorry the talent isn’t there like the top teams.
Garrett Wilson and and Waddle did NOT pick UT.

let’s not even get into the offensive line.
The best players on our team are B Robinson, Joseph Ossai, and Overshown. All of these guys might likely be sitting on the bench as players at Ohio State or Alabama.
Thanks for the win now at ude but please be real.

    disagree

there's plenty of talent. maybe not clemson or bama level, but still plenty high enough to win the conference and get a playoff spot.
