Imagine its like the 4th digit. I'm guessing they will have it splinted and possibly in a boot initially. Should heal fine.

Sucks that White is out and this pretty much ensures that the Spurs are lottery bound.

Evan Mobley or another quality prospect could help turn things around quickly, though.
Evan Mobley is exactly who I want for us.

I honestly don't care if they make the playoffs this year anyway so this just means more time for Vassal and for others to grow. Assuming his foot isn't a problem going forward. Spurs should definitely play it ultra safe.

Now that White is out for the year it is the perfect opportunity to taaaank. We don’t even have to change up our playing style. Just keep giving the ball to DDR during crunch time and have Patty Mills guard Durant height people and we will be good to go. Charge Greggo! Charge!

The funny thing is Pop will try hard to get the team to the playoffs but will fail miserably due to the way the team is constructed.

Nah, adrenaline is a of a drug. Players have been known to finish off games even with torn ACLs and other season-ending injuries.
    This.
    And will power.
Philbillie Rivers quarterbacked the Chargers in the AFC Championship Game six days after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee. Damn near beat the Patriots too. 14-12 into the 4th qtr. Ultimately it was the Cheatriots 3 touchdowns beating the Chargers 4 field goals. Bolts just couldn't punch in a TD.

Isn't there some kind of protection (like many players use on their fingers) to really stiffen those toes and prevent them from suffering these kind of injuries so often? I'm clearly talking out of my ass but it doesn't seem to me like toe injuries should be this big of a deal, tbh.

If it's not the big toe then it's not really a big deal since the big toe is the one where you use to plant you your feet and change directions. That's what I have been told by a doctor.

My guess is White will be out two months. He might heal quicker than that but the Spurs and White can't exactly risk him injuring the same toe for a third time in less than six months.

And, yeah, I'm officially worried about his feet. How do you break that bone by landing wrong? Never heard of that, tbh. Add in all his other foot injuries and that contract extension suddenly doesn't look as hot
If it's that much of a concern, would the Spurs even want to extend him?

    What is a minor fracture?

Also, didn’t he play in the second half? The fact that he did, even though he was injured in the 2Q, means the injury can’t be that serious.
Manu played the 2014 finals with a facture foot.

This injury to his foot is not his first he has had chronic foot problems since day one with the Spurs hence my reservation of giving him big money. It is what it is I think the Spurs will be overly cautious as he just signed that big contract and we will be in a loosing streak no reason to rush him back.

Well behind every cloud there is a silver lining as I think we in line to definitely get a top 7 pick where we might have our pick of future starting Center, Power Forward, or Point Guard. And if the Spurs front office can work out a trade we might be able to get two starters out of this next draft class.

On another note I don’t think the NBA will be playing games in 8 weeks I think they will have to shut it down and then come back latter with a bubble playoff.

Why do you think the NBA will shut it down? Is the situation getting worse over there in the US?

This. We are not going anywhere if we even make the playoffs. I am enjoying the season (well, not the Utah game) because it's win/win. We play well and scratch out a playoff seed, that means the young guys are developing, getting experience and it will be fun to watch. The team under performs, we have a shot at solid draft pick in a good draft. Then the offseason will be even more interesting then usual as Pop may retire, most of the vets will move on and hopefully COVID is under control and we get to see great summer league action.

White checked in at 4:09 in Q1, left at 11:10 Q2, and came back at 7:49 Q2.

That means he didn't even make it 10 minutes before re-injuring himself.

It's hard to just keep calling it bad luck at this point.

thats not the case at all. a lot of players suffer terrible injuries where they finish the game due to adrenaline, and then they miss substantial time.
Adrenaline is a of a drug. I sprained my ankle in flag football once. It was sore but I was able to walk it off, finish the game, then went to a festival (Eeyores Birthday) and spent the rest of the day walking around on it.

Once I finally got home and off my feet and the ankle cooled down...it swelled up and hurt like a . Went to the doctor and they said it was a hairline fracture, was stuck in a boot for weeks.

At least it was a contact injury. If he was just running and it broke that would spell doom for him
