They completely destroyed all the character development work done over the first 5 seasons for Deb and Dexter. I seriously hope they get better writers for next season, so that this new plot twist doesn't completely suck.

not really a plot twist because this happens in the books as well
they did that when his wife died too, all the progress destroyed, start over again.
also, did I miss something? is Dexter immune to tranquilizer?
also, "oh god!"
I was thinking the same thing, that kind of annoyed me.
finally all caught up, I fell behind after losing interest but this season was a bit stronger than I thought it would be. Didn't see that final scene coming and still have some questions but very curious how they are going to wrap this up in the final season.
Too bad what happened to Doakes in the books didn't happen on the show. Would have been funny to see it visualized on screen.
The ending was intense. You almost know what's going to happen next.
Could have sworn Showtime's got at least two more seasons lined up.
They do.
There was some issues sometime back about Michael C. Hall's contract but they settled that.
Season 7-8 story will span accross the two season.
Finally started watching this series a couple of weeks ago based on everyone saying how great it was. I always heard that I should quit after Season 5.
6 wasn't as bad as I was led to believe but it's by far the weakest season so far to me. It was pretty obvious early on that there was only one killer. And I find it hard to believe that the art guy had enough mechanical wherewithal to stage all the he did. Plus, Colin Hanks has to be a candidate for most punchable face. And the whole Deb falling in love with Dex was pretty stupid.
yeah but he's basically a couple of oddly placed tattoos away from being koriwhat
while the show was losing steam by this point, the ending/cliffhanger of season 6 was compelling enough to keep people watching
season 7 is quite a bit better as a result of that, and you get some compelling new characters too

Yeah...I'm one or two into Season 7 and it's pretty good. Season 8 is supposedly the worst but I'll probably stick it out since 9 is coming out at some point.
