They certainly have the capability, they just didn't use it on 1/6.

    That's a very misleading take.

    Two factors here:

    1. DOD waited over three hours to approve deployment of the DCNG after help was urgently requested by Capitol Police.

    2. The acting Sec'y of Defense tied the DCNG's hands behind their backs. Despite that, order was restored shortly after the DCNG showed up.

You owe the DCNG an apology for misrepresenting their efficacy. They did their job, once the DOD allowed them to do it.

How does Congress control the national guard?
Nice strawman using the word CONTROL. Typical chump .

The Sergeant at Arms who works directly for the Speaker of the House can request the National Guard. They don't CONTROL the National Guard, but the National Guard would not refuse the request.

I'm not re arguing 1/6. The capital police requested National Guard assistance BEFORE 1/6 and were refused by the Sgt. at Arms because of "optics".

Are any of those counties states?
Do the citizens of DC have the representation that those counties have?

D.C. wouldn't be abolished, of course, only reduced in area, with the bulk becoming a state.

Madison's Federalist writings aren't Cons utional law, none of them are, nor is the Dec of Ind

Madison's idea of DC failed as DC was not fortified, and the Brits burned it down in 1812

Why is DC en led to Virginia and Maryland's lands?
    Why not?

It's called a district for a reason, not a state.
This is a stupid argument. There were originally 13 states, and the rest where called something else. Under this silly argument, none of them should've become states.

But, there's nothing uncons utional about it either. The US Cons ution clearly addresses how to deal with the expansion of the Union as more States join.

Yeah you were. You said the National Guard didn't do the job. That's false.

The capital police requested National Guard assistance BEFORE 1/6 and were refused by the Sgt. at Arms because of "optics".
Superseded by the DOD memo of Jan.4th posted here. An earlier request would have made no difference.

That memo was in regard to the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA request for help with traffic control. Totally unrelated to Congress and the Capital. Try to keep up.

Lol. "Illiterate". You're the one that said, "Cows don't fart". When literally, they do. You've never admitted your were wrong in that original statement.

All you had to do is say you were ignorant and that I helped educate you.

Lol...you've never explained it. You just decided to start posting facts instead of what you thought was right. My guess is you actually did some research once you were called out.

But yeah...you're not playing, "this game".

How odd is it that the DOD would be dictating “traffic control” to the National Guard don’t you think? And what a coincidence that the order came two days before the riot.

jeez. Read up please. DC in advance requested national guard support to help with traffic control, at metro stops, etc. They were given 350. They were unarmed. That is what the memo specifically referred to...the rules for those 350 guardsmen assisting the DC police. Read the first paragraph of the memo that you posted.
