DD suck ass defense but B.

No compredno. His offense was good, but enough to offeset near zero defense? C / C+ at best.

"Defensively, DeRozan was really, really bad. The Hornets were picking on him — and were having great success in doing so. He was slow in isolations, lost track of his man multiple times and didn’t hustle in transition. The Spurs played great defense when DeRozan was on the bench but struggled to slow the Hornets when he was in the game. That wasn’t a coincidence."

When you gonna give Pop the F he deserves?

When is anyone in the Spurs media going to ask Pop what happened to Luka? From pre-ASB defensive presence in the front court to donut duty all because of Popazit.

Agreed on the grades for the most part. Saw this loss coming once I heard Ball was out for the season. Need to go 6-2 the rest of the homestand to have any chance of getting a top 6 seed.

Its frustrating that we always play down to our opponents.

In thr Bucks game and even the Lakers gamea at the beginning of the year, we've shown that we can compete at their level even if we come up short.

But when we play teams like the Bulls and Hornets in what looks like an easy win, we end up playing down to their level and come close to losing /lose.

What’s Spurs record against ex-Spurs assistant coaches? It seems they know too much of Spurs’ game plan. But to exaccerbate that, Pop prefer to try to outscore with Patty/Rudy combo, instead of playing better defense Vassell/Diop/Luka. I don’t know why Pop does not emphasize to the athletic young, which he mentioned at the start of the season. Now he’s back with the slower veterans. I don’t mind Mills/Rudy occassionally but to close? I know Spurs is a top 10 defensive team, but last night was not it. Terrible opportunity to win over an injured team at home.

Man, I was so happy to see Pop put poodle in for Gay finally in the 4th only to see him sub him right back in. So stubborn with the vets. Way too many minutes for Gay and Patty. Spurs actually won three quarters, it was that first that killed them. Hornets are kind of a bad matchup for the Spurs, kinda weird.

He is the reason why we stay in the game, lot of others can't buy a bucket.

I don't understand why we play Rudy that much , same thing with Mills.

It felt like Rudy cost us that game. The turnover and clear-path foul was a killer.

ing F for Pop and his hard on for playing Gay and Mills in the 4th quarter, and also giving Mills the last shot of the game which I expected him to clank even if it was a wide open clean look. He really must get turned on or something playing these vets all the time, and in turn letting the young guys who should be getting court time to develop just sit and rot on the bench. We lose the games anyway. Complete waste of time.

He fell apart once he got popped in the mouth. I think he was trying to take the game over but his aggressiveness didn't do much good at all.

Any team is a bad matchup when you have 14 turnovers to 17 assists. Spurs played sloppy all night.

Credit to Hayward and Rozier...every time the Spurs put together a little spurt, they'd come back with run killer.

Why should we get a top pick? Popovich is just gonna pick someone that's not gonna get any minutes for the next 3 years
