I fall into to this category, I never had a reaction to any vaccine until a few days ago.

First symptom besides lethargy was the chills, I woke up shivering in bed.
I rarely ever get a fever. The last time I did it came with giant swollen lymph nodes and a horrible case of mono.
I missed a semester of school. I will never forget that. Got my butt totally kicked in. Tried to come back to fast and relapsed.

Super mild side effects from the first Moderna shot for me. Will let you know after the second.
Can you put that on this thread? pretty please...

My sister said that one sucked. As far as side effects.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it'll be a few more months before booster shots are recommended.

There was brief talk of changing guidance to one dose for Pfizer and Moderna, has that conversation already been overtaken by events?

I think it was 80 something % v. 90 something with two... ahh just not sure but I seem to remember this.

    I don't know how frequent these clotting events are -- 1 in 100k? 1 in 1M?

Covid deaths in the US are over 1 in 600.

I'd roll the dice with AZ, any day.
IIRC, one quoted frequency I have seen is 1 in 100,000. Is that redic, or tolerably close to normal for a vaccine?

Honest question, I have no idea.

Consistent with what I've read, but its like 2-3 weeks after first dose, and 1-2 weeks after 2nd.

I had Pfizer yesterday and arm is barely sore. Flu shot way worse, at least for me.

Maybe needs more study, or bigger ones.

I have no idea. My blood is thin as , so I'd have no worries. Maybe people unsure should take aspirin in days leading to AZ?

The Germans have suggested there are therapies that can mitigate AZ vaccine risk for people with known blood clotting issues. IIRC they found a trigger.

I think this is answered on some WHO site as it depends on how deadly the disease is.

i get the relativistic balancing, what i want to know is, what's the normal range for serious adverse events for vaccines historically?

are the COVID vaccines all in that range? are some out of that range?

    too early to tell?

The clotting events are less than would be expected in an unvaccinated population. Within that small group is another very small group that has an unusual type of clotting that would not be expected in a normal population. It has a specific name now but I don't remember it off hand.

It's discussed on the TWiV episode I already posted. Skip over the T Cell discussion if you want, although you should listen to that part. It would help you not fall for the vaccine escape fear porn Hater keeps pumping.

I was quoted 75% one dose Moderna efficiency at four weeks when I got the second one, same range.

    Idiosyncrasy, I hate watching videos.

Can you net it out for me, or is it too complicated?

Why do you demand people give you an executive summary?

Try watching some videos every once in a while. That one is actually pretty good.

    I might.

If you can't explain in your own words, you haven't mastered it yourself, that's all.

Why should I take a recommendation from someone who hasn't bothered to understand what they're recommending?

Snake has put up some good ones and so have you.
But honestly reading suits me better as well. Unless I need graphs and such.
Reading is just a lot faster for me. And Winehole has put up some excellent reads.
I thought my you tube on the freeze particulars and the possible total blackout was good but apparently not so.

For that particular video, I skipped past all their weather bs, listened to the t-cell expert, and then stopped watching.
