gotta start ice, manu or sean. sorry verde

With the HoF ceremony this weekend I was going through in my head which franchise has the best all-around team they could put together. Whether said team has players that only played for a season or two or players that spent their entire careers with a franchise, the only caveat is they're the player they were when they played for the team in question. For example, TMac technically played for the Spurs but he was washed up by that point. You can go with either the most talented players or players who you think would make the team best. Let's say roster size is set at 13, the amount that can actually dress.
Spurs:
SL:
-Tony Parker
-Danny Green
-Nephew
-Tim Duncan
-David Robinson
Bench:
-Manu Ginobili
-George Gervin
-LaMarcus Aldridge
-Boris Diaw
-Alvin Robinson
-Sean Elliot
-Dennis Rodman
-James Silas
HM: Bruce Bowen, Artis Gilmore

Originally had Manu in the SL, but I felt LDN balanced it out better. Like I said, it's not just about talent, but building the best team.
Was also hard to include Nephew, but decided to anyway for compe ion's sake.
Tony Parker
-Manu Ginobili
-George Gervin
-Tim Duncan
-David Robinson
Bench:
-Larry Kenon
-Johnny Moore
-Mike Mitchel
-Bruce Bowen
-Alvin Robinson
-Sean Elliot
-Artis Gilmore
-James Silas
Nah to #2 and LDN lol
I'll leave the Lakers, Mavs, Rockets, Suns, etc to our resident fans of those teams, so I'll try my hand at teams without representation here. First up, the T'Pups:
SL:
-Sam Cassel
-Pooh Richardson
-Jimmy Butler
-Kevin Garnett
-Karl-Anthony Towns
Bench:
-Kevin Love
-Al Jefferson
-Wally Szczerbiak
-Stephon Marbury
-Isaiah Rider
-Nikola Pekovic
-Ricky Rubio
-Latrell Sprewell
HM: Doug West, Troy Hudson
Lakers:
- Magic
- Michael cooper
- LeBron
- Gasol
- Shaq
Bench :
- Jerry West
- Byron Scott
- Elgin Baylor
- James Worthy
- Wilt
- Kream
- AD
Coach : Pat Riley
Mavericks:
SL
- Jason Kidd
- Mark Aguirre
- Rolando Blackman
- Dirk
- Tyson Chandler
Bench:
- Nash
- Terry
- Michael Finley
- Jerry Stackhouse
- Derek Harper
- Josh Howard
- Roy Tarpley
- Sam Perkins
Tough team to put together tbh. Mavs are stacked with wing players but hard to fill out the Center and PF position outside of Dirk and Chandler. I put Tarpley there since he had a better peak over guys like Dampier and Donaldson who may have had better overall tenures in Dallas.
luka?
and I think marion over stack personally
rofl forgot about Luka. That's a tough call then whether to bump Kidd or Nash off the team IMO. Luka is obviously the starting PG, but I think I'd rather have Nash off the bench than Kidd in order to get that instant offense. I could see Marion over Stackhouse for defensive purposes/smallball while Howard/Finley already provide the same value
nah roddy nashroseparker should be starting pg tbqh
Best all-time starting 5 is Nash/Luka/Aguirre/Dirk/Tyson i think.
Best starting 5 for today’s game would be Luka/Jet/Findog/Dirk/Tyson tbhfwiwimho. Surround Luka with shooters and a roll man.
I'd go Nash over Kidd in the starting lineup, tbh.
Los Angeles Lakers (George Mikan on Minnesota Timberwolves all-time team)
SL
PG: Gail Goodrich (A good shoot-first PG)
SG: Hot Rod Hundley
SF: Adrian Dantley (Lakers gave up on this perennial 30 pt per game scorer)
PF: Happy Hairston (Horace Grant of his time. Lakers don't set 32 straight win record without him)
C: Zelmo Beatty (Former ABA Playoff MVP who knows how to ring and compete with any center and agile to play in today's NBA)
Bench
- Cotton Nash
- Darral Imhoff
- Mel Counts (Moves into starting line-up if stretch 5 needed)
- Jeff Lamp (All-time end of the bench guy)
- Pat Riley (Player/Coach)
- Don Nelson (Important to keep the luck on your side)
- James Krebs
- Shaquille O'Neal (If refs are allowing him to lower the shoulder, he can come in and save any team; if not, the pure athlete Wilt Chamberlain may be the play)
- Earvin Johnson (For the after parties) or AC Green or Mark Madson if we're going the other way and want to be real clean and wholesome.
- Vlade Divac
- Sasha Vujacic (Need a pure three shooter. Might have to cut a good chemistry guy like Krebs to make numbers)
- Pau Gasol (If another player allowed in the wings. Is a poor man's Vlade; but he led the Lakers to two rings still)
- Jerry West (Might bring him in if forced to play by today's NBA rules and more outside shooting needed)
- Lou Alcindor (May be willing to take on this specialist)
Problem is that Nash would just get abused completely on defense by whoever he was guarding. Off the bench makes a little more sense considering he wouldn't go up against as many elite guards tbh
Kidd over Nash and its not even close. Nash is one of the worst defensders in NBA history.
Celtics
SL:
Bob Cousy
John Havlichek
Larry Bird
Kevin Mchale
Bill Russell
Bench:
Rajon Rondo
Marcus Smart
Ray Allen
Paul Pierce
Reggie Lewis
Kevin Garnett
Dave Cowens
Reserve:
Dennis Johnson
Bill Sherman
Bill Walton
Head Coach: Red Auerbach
Assistans: Doc Rivers, KC Jones, Tom Heinsohn, Tom Thibodeau, Brad Stevens

Tiny archibald
Jo Jo White rpleaces rondo and smart
Today's Celtics destroy that starting 5.
Cousy with 25 points and 15 assists in today's nba. And Nash-like efficiency![]()
As soon as he looked down to see the ball while dribbling with one hand up the court someone would strip him and dunk at the opposite end.
Wouldn't add Tatum?
well duh
