Will be really interesting to see what happens to the Clippers this summer. Most teams would call a WCF run a fairly successful season, and they can always use the excuse of Kawhi's injury for not making the Finals.

Still, they went all-in on a PG and Kawhi combo for a short championship window, and have now failed to reach the Finals twice and struggled mightily in the playoffs even when healthy. Got upset in the Semi's last year after being up 3-1, then managed to go down 0-2 every series this year even when (mostly) healthy.

I can see many different ways that the plug gets pulled on this experiment. Is their weight behind the rumors of Kawhi being unhappy? Does PG want to continue to play sidekick? If both come back, do they really have any money or assets to improve, or is the best case scenario running it back and hoping for a better result?
They need to go all in on Small Ball. Keep Zubac for certain matchups, but find an impact PG who facilitates and find a bigger wing who shoots who can muscle like PJ Tucker.

They gotta lean in and hope for health, because if George, Morris, Jackson, Mann all rejoin Kawhi and a PG and a wing big, that’s a legit 5-6-7 players who can score and shoot and defend and switch and add punkass Beverley and Zubac and that’s just enough variation.

honestly, i don't really know how teammates view leonard. we got the company line during the conference finals but whether or not his teammates weren't happy with him will come out eventually. if he's on good terms, then i would run it back with the same team and see what can be added or subtracted to improve the team. what the clippers have to really gauge though is what they have with leonard in regards to his health. i mean, can this guy stay healthy?

Being healthy is an underrated NBA skill.

Suns have the NBA’s best record since the bubble. The best road record. The best record vs .500 or better teams. They are a top 3 defense and top-5 offense. They are the top mid-range team. They finished 1 game out of the best record overall and went 3-0 vs the team who finished ahead of them. Suns were a collective 11-6 vs the top-4 seeds in each NBA conference with 3 losses being in the final minute or OT.

The Suns have, for once, had a few lucky breaks, but were good enough to win the whole ing thing anyways, so anyone downplaying can take the entirety of NBA history and themselves with it.
Can't even say they have been all that lucky considering CP3's wrist and then Booker's nose. God damn I hope it doesn't end up becoming a problem in the Finals, because I really want to see CP3 and Monty ring, plus you guys are the most fun team to watch this year. Four more and nobody can say .

There's really nothing to gauge there. Given their cap situation, their choice is either Leonard or nothing. So they'll offer Leonard a 5 year max deal, a 3 year max deal, or a 2 year max deal, each with an opt out the last season and pray he signs. Then they'll offer Ibaka a light raise, decide if Jackson is worth a big raise, and decide whether to give Batum say $6 million a year or go for another ring chasing vet instead.

Not like this though where every star player on the opposing team is hurt, giannis maybe out too. A little part of me hates the Suns fans and their owner as well, I really dont want them to know what a championship feels like
Sarver is terrible, one of the worst owners in the league for 15 years now. Reminds me of the way Red McCombs nickel and dimed the Spurs in the 90s and destroyed the most promising young core in the league with his cheapness, and then didn't want to pay for a le team when Barkley became available. At least Sarver was willing to pay CP3's contract this year to turn the team around though after seeing the potential they showed in the bubble, which is more than I could ever say for McCombs. I can't hate the fans though and do feel like they got cheated out of the chance for a le in 07 by the stupid bench rule, because that 07 team was legit. Took the best game I ever saw Tim, Tony, and Manu put together to eliminate them in Game 6.

I think they have a problem with Jackson. IIRC, they have only partial bird rights, and are thus limited to offering him the MLE. Will another team jump in?

Nice. I hate Jackson and seeing him constantly saving the Clippers all postseason with his clutch shooting sucked.

Rob's hip got us Game 5, but Game 6 was all Tim/Tony/Manu with a clutch shot from Jacque Vaughn mixed in too.

They should sign him and then turn around and trade him to OKC for picks. Joking. Sort of.

    Seven Seconds Or Less Suns

2005: Joe Johnson gets face broken late in WCSF and misses games in WCF and when he returns shoots half his efficiency.
2006: Amare Stoudemire and Kurt Thomas miss all of Playoffs. Suns make WCF anyways.
2007: Game 1 Nash Nose, Game 3 Donaghy, Game 5 suspension

Not that all or any of them ring. But I don’t want to ing hear about injuries and bad luck.

It’s the ing game. Sack up and win. Nothing else matters.

Agree. And I think Spurs would win that series. But that hip-check played a crucial role.

Have no idea which Milwaukee team will show up for Games 5 and 6.
    Coin flip on series.

Freak is coming back at 60% if at all this ATL series.
Pretty sure the Bucks management is not as desperate for Ws as the Golden gots were with Durbetta.

That series was a coin flip to me conditioning on 2-2 with 2 of the next 3 in AZ, assuming no suspensions.

I think a pretty ty Milwaukee team. I don't care if Giannis didn't snap those ligaments, they gotta at least have partial ruptures and I'd be floored to see him play before a possible Game 7. Not sure if Milwaukee can get to a Game 7 without him though.

They'll stay true to form and be bipolar imo.

Will win one big and lose one without Freak. They have won big without Freak in the reg season as well as lost.

Ya Freak playing even in Game 7 will not be a factor and he should not play imo.

I mean he probably shouldn't even play in the Finals based on Embiid's hyperextension that looked less serious than Giannis' and how much time he missed. But no way he's not back for at least say Game 4 of the Finals unless they're in a 3-0 hole already, assuming they can get through Atlanta. Which I don't think they will now.

one can never really compare injuries and all i've seen on Giannis is what the MRI didn't show. as to Embiid, his MRI revealed that he had also suffered a bone bruise to that knee.

He got a lot of rant here. But I'll take this guy. You want a guy like Beverly to go to battle with. I mean besides DJ, I don't know any Spurs, maybe Eubanks. And every team needs that.

I thought all the Bucks said about Giannis' MRI was there were no full ligament tears.

that. I'd rather the Spurs move to Seattle before watching that piece of wear the silver and black.

Dude is a bonafide man-child who deserves to have his ugly face caved in, tbh. Hopefully the NBA suspends him for his bush league move last night.

right. that's all we know. with embiid, we knew that he also had a bone bruise so that explains why he was out for so long.

Seems like a bone bruise is kind of a given though, a best case scenario for what could have happened. Probably has partial tears the team isn't disclosing too.

Meh we were fans of Bowen and Horry. I would have loved to have this year's version of Beverley on the early to mid 2010s Spurs.
