"Critics have raised questions about the legality of Johnson's donation through the Willis and Reba Johnson Fund,

he's doing so because immigrants are "killing and raping people" and spreading COVID-19,

"People don't respect nothing unless they work for it," Johnson said.

"You've gotta work for what you got, and you've gotta respect what other people has —

but not shooting and killing and lying and raping and doing other kinds of stuff because they've got free money.

It's just chaos with this President, and he don't care."

"Everybody is tied down from COVID-19 but

they let them come over with no shots, no nothing, no coverings over their face,"

"They ship them out to all the states, like I'm in Tennessee, vax rate? 35%

they ship them out to Tennessee and they don't ask the governor.

They just spread 'em everywhere like guacamole on toast!

and they don't care about COVID-19."

given that IRS rules prohibit charities from participating directly in politics.

    Others
have pointed out that a private donor is

effectively buying U.S. military personnel to use as his own mercenary troops."

    Approved by DoD? the President?

    Will it be challenged?

Should send National Guard to Trump's golf courses to stop him from hiring mojados again.

    Texas two-step:

Republican primary voters come first, citizens second

Abbott, of course, recently exercised his own presidential-like authority and declared his intention to finish Trump’s border wall with unspecified state funds.

In May he declared a state of emergency in 34 border counties affected by the cyclical surges in immigration, an order that enables him to shift funds to his sudden urge to build a border wall.

One-third of the counties, including those in the Rio Grande Valley, were removed from the emergency order after local officials rejected Abbott’s scare-mongering.

Still, the show must go on, and Wednesday it did. Of course,

no such state of emergency was declared by Abbott when Trump was in the White House and tens of thousands of Central Americans surged to the border.

Now that Democrat Joe Biden is president, such a declaration plays well to the Republican base.

That said, the meager $495,000 in private donations that have trickled in for Abbott’s wall

suggests he will be hard-pressed to finance his grandiose vision, with wall construction costing anywhere from

    $26 million to $46 million a mile.

Repug politicians know deeply how stupid, ignorant, and racist their voters are, and feed them hilariious, stupefying red meat.

Its good Abbott shifted away from our unregulated power.
He will not do well with either issue in the end. Just a wall is not the solution.

underfunding schools, low-balling teachers so that :

Teacher turnover remains high in Texas public schools

    Literally zero on this.
    Its apparently another lie.
Give us a link Chris Christian...

The legislative session came and went, and Texas lawmakers passed on a bill that would have bumped up the monthly checks that retired teachers and school workers receive from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
House Bill 3214 by state Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, R-Southlake, would have provided a monthly cost of living boost to retirees’ checks of 6%, capped at $100.
Those who have been retired for 17 years or less have never seen their checks adjusted with inflation.
Advocates for retired teachers had been lobbying lawmakers for multiple sessions.

Why are Democrats taking a vacation instead of helping foster children?
Because a party of idiots decided to make it harder for citizens to vote and combined this with other legislation.
One party in this State does not believe in democracy.

Chris the fake Christian; do you think it should be mandatory to be Christian to vote in Texas?

How is it harder? You can provide the last four digits of your social security to vote.

Why does Houston have one voting station for a huge number of people in deep blue areas?
Why do areas that are red have many more voting machines per person?
Uhhh You can use a drivers license as well or other forms of ID. You are on a list if eligible to vote. Once you vote you cannot vote again. Is there a problem with this? Besides a Trumper killing his wife and mailing in a vote for her with a fake signature.

Is there a problem with illegal and incorrect voting in Texas?
Cause the governor you mentioned could not find any.
Give me your numbers and a link please.

@ 'fair and uniform'... what does that even mean? fair for who? uniform? who came up with those goals and why do they matter at all when it comes to voting?

Voting should be free, accessible and accommodating for all voters, most of whom have different needs to cast their votes (especially since election day is not a work holiday).

It's too important a right and the absolute pillar of democracy.

Unfortunately Texas has a long history of disenfranchisement that landed it under the VRA's monitoring powers until recently, and it's one of of the states with the most restrictive voting laws in the country (and that's before this law):
