By the end of the day, we’re all Spurs fans, whether you agree or disagree with some opinions. That’s what fans do
Me, I’ve learned to follow some posters seriously on their opinions. And I’ve taken liberty as well to give mine. It’s a free world. If you don’t like one’s take, then skip it. It’s interesting to learn different takes. Like I happen to like Jalen Johnson a lot, while most of the people here don’t. Well, we’re all wrong, aren’t we? Who would’ve thought the PATFO would pick Primo? So there you go. It’s an open forum. Peace![]()
Everyone is en led to their opinion, but this is a weird place to come if you don't want to read takes from "non-experts." But I hardly think most people in the sports commentary world are anymore qualified to have an opinion than anyone here. Most of them may be journalists, but their only credibility is that they watched the game, which is the same as other fans. And most of those "experts" that talk about the Spurs only watch one or two games a year and actually know less about the Spurs than anyone on here. The true "experts" are the ones that study the salary cap and that work in the actual organizations. But they don't always get it right and part of the fun is coming here and posting your opinion and then needing to defend it. And sometimes it is humbling when you argue something and it gets destroyed and you got no defense. However, that is the fun of it and why a site like this exists. If you just wanted to get the sports updates, you could do that on Twitter or ESPN.
Headed to Vegas right now to see the first three Spurs SL games.
As a Spurs fan, the Vegas SL is my favorite time of the year! (lately)
People didn't believe me when I said Duarte was going to be more than a role player and was worthy of the #12 pick. People put too much emphasis on age.
Game is still going, but he has a statline of 4-6 FG (3-5 3P), 3-3 FT, 2 rebs, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 14 pts
Doesn't look like a 3 and D player to me.
Even though the SL is the second-best US league, the step down ks tremendous. Most role-players who can make it in the NBA can be SL stars
Yeah this was the year I really wanted an extra draft pick. I was excited about so many prospects. None of them Josh ing Primo
But Duarte and Sengun would’ve been awesome to somehow get. Now we re-sign Bryn Forbes bc we have a guy that isn’t going to contribute anything for maybe another 2 years.
Anyways in my expert opinion, as a person who put in the time and really scouted all the prospects, also I did a deep dive analysis on the top 35 prospects and I can say without doubt that we are going to regret signing Bryn Forbes.
yeah, and anderson didnt really come into his own with the spurs until well after year 2
but yeah, for every random story of "oh tim duncan had a bad summer league game against ostertag"... i feel like guys who cant shine in SL cant even get by as average rotation players in the big leagues
Quindary Weatherspoon looking good for Brooklyn.
Trey Murphy with an impressive showing. He was 1 of the oldest guys in the draft, and not someone I thought had a high ceiling, but he was impressive.wow.
Desmond Bane impressive obviou sly. Probably an increased role for him in Memphis this season.
Has the Spurs game already started? Or is it being played on the same court as Brooklyn-Memphis?
Watching the game up close and personal, this is not team of shooters. Or rebounders. I bet on the game and gave a point. Fortunately, it was a small amount.
Most boring Spurs SL team ever I think. Who's the coach? Is it that little black dude? Don't think they are respecting him too much.
Vegas is completely masked up now.
I was here a few weeks ago for the US team exhibitions. No masks in casinos or at the game.
Now it's masks at the games and anywhere indoors.
It's surprising how much a touristy place like this can change so quickly.
But I'm all in if that's what's required.
