You said you believed Putin is a dictator

You only heard that on social media

    The spurrader dilemma
    Putin is a dictator.
Tell the board why you dont think he falls into that category hater.
    Start with the Duma.

Putin is a dictator and by far the richest man on the face of the Earth.
If he were to make a call for $, he can get more of it for himself than anyone.

So tell me what you think a president for 23 years is hater?
Is he an aristocrat? Family got him his place? go on, expand on this hater, you wont.

    This is your argument.
    Putin is a dictator.

What else would he be called that is accurate?

You worship a guy who has kept himself in control of the largest richest landmass of any country in the world for 23 years and kills political opponents or locks them up. They have to import farm crops and most of their decent food. The Russians do oil and weapons, it is one of the most disappointing economies in the world. The US has a problem with a dwindling middle class. Russia has oligarchs beholden to Putin and the rest can eat beets. They have a horrible legal system that does not even follow a rule of law. Its a complete charade. If OJ had killed a white girl in that country he would be strung up and displayed in Moscow.

    So what is Putin hater?

Isn't that the same speculation and estimates that overstated just how rich Trump is?

Also Russia is in A-LOT better shape today than what he stepped into when drunk Yeltsin resigned

I think if a large enough amount of the Russian people were dissatisfied, Putin would handpick a replacement and step down. I don't think Saddam would ever freely relinquish power. Maybe hand over within his own family.

Bottom line Putin loves Russia more than power/control. I don't think this was the case with Saddam.

He already did that, but not really.
In 2008 -2012. A formality to get Mendelev to become president. Putin was still the man. Wanted the appearance of a more enlightened state merely to deal with the west.
Then he just decided to make himself president for life. As he gets old and just gets tired he will absolutely give it to a hand picked successor and then still have his say till he dies. This is dictator mode. Fidel did the same thing.

His annexation of Crimea and the oil crunch has severely weakened their economy, AGAIN, and he is a popular as ever just like Fidel according to the "votes". He does bring a vast stability to Russia as everyone knows who the dictator and power broker is. The people know the corruption well, they know the oligarchs well, so Russia is stable. Total power brings stability, Russians are unusually pleased culturally with being told exactly how it will be, so it works.

That land mass is loaded with mineral wealth (other than oil) and farm country and is a gigantic poor country. But the vast amount of people are basically equally poor. The cities are and "wealthier" , the country side is cut off and 3rd world. Their infrastructure is shot but really all they need is pipeline and some crappy trains. A country with this type of sequestered economy just does not need as much as a democracy where people will have their say. We elected Donald Trump. No fkn way that EVER happens in Russia. They will not have a complete clown, they will have a very saavy man competent in corruption and brandishing total power. He and his successor will be very competent dictators. And the people will accept that. The rules are clear.

It doesn't matter what "Putin loves" or "Putin wants", that's not the barometer for determining if somebody is a dictator. The barometer is whether Russians feel able to vote freely for any candidate they want and those candidates are free to run their campaigns.

Considering the persecution, and even jailing of political opponents being very prevalent in Russia, once can certainly argue that Putin is indeed a dictator. Furthermore, he has overseen reforms to keep him in power for longer as well.

The responses to my post are fair. I agree with them.

You asked for my opinion and I provided it to you. General feeling of the situation.
