The worst was take masks off and put them back on.

I haven't worn one since April.

that was bad, why do you think it was the worst?

if you look at a vaccination graph for the US, the start of the decline more lines up with the J&J pause than the masking recommendation.

As I recall, at the time of the new masking guidance you were declaring the pandemic over.

    For like the fourth time.

Why should anyone accept your wisdom now, Darrin?

We didn't have delta at that time, head.

I have a very sick friend, who is vaccinated.

How would that affect trust in vaccines since you still trust them?

Sympathy for you and your friend, but Delta already existed, it was rampant in India and starting to kick England’s ass back in April. It was already clear we would get it too. We’ve seen that movie before, I guess you were just too thick to read the signs.

I can understand the need to lash out in anger, but it’s not factually well-founded, tbh.

I declared pandemic over, pre-delta. I think it will be over soon.

I think another year minimum imo

I thought we were out of the woods because of vaccines. My mistake was thinking antivaxxers were no more than 20% of the country. Anecdotally I'm now wondering about the real effectiveness of the vaccines. Hearing too many cases of fully vaxxed very sick people. Last week I heard of a friend of a friend that had all fully vaxxed family get together. 30 people, 15 got covid, 2 died (one in their 80's and one only 50).

Neither have you. Of course you never have anything to say so it's easy not to be right or wrong.

Prediction is a fool's game unless you have inside knowledge, which I don't. There's no honor in being boldly wrong over and over, tbh.

It was pretty simple and easy to predict these vaccines were gonna b ty tbqh. Rushed, hyper warp.speed wathever .no rigorous testing. It was probabky the easiest call I made. The fact that a vaxed is just as infectious as a non as well as the terrible waning efficacy makes these especially ty.

    Called it

I also called that this was gonna become endemic and way of the flu. Due to mutations. A this was pretty easy calls tbqh

It's a description of current events, not a prediction.

Since August COVID has been hitting kids harder. ~1,000 schools have been shut down by outbreaks. Pointing out the desirability of more mitigation and protection for kids isn't egging it on.

Schools are still functioning overall. Despite your doomsday predictions. Thats a good thing.

No doomsday predicted. It's already pretty bad. I can't remember the last time a contagious disease shut down a thousand schools in a few weeks.

Seems to be working for the >60 crowd. Probably too early to say for sure about <60 but looks dubious for now.
