Keldon isn't as far along as we may have once thought.
Dude is a high energy role player. We need those. But this is really who is moving forward. My only hope is he develops a consistently good 3ball

I mean, dude just turned 22. Let's not declare him a finished product, yet.

I don't think he will ever be a superstar. He could end up being an Artest type of player on both ends of the court.

They're on pace to win 27 games with their current record, and the schedule is going to get easier from here.
Team has also played really well outside 3-pt shooting which may not improve. Said before the season they win like 24 games which sounds about right.

Yeah, he might not ever be a superstar but there's a solid chance he could have a long, productive NBA career unlike the bad Luka.

He'd be significantly better if he could shoot at all, either mid or 3.

There's time for him, but I thought he was going to show more initiative late in games and at least be reliable when left wide open.

Honestly this teams shooting isn't nearly as bad as its been so far this season. It will definitely improve going foward. And, well, if it doesn't then they will lose a lot more games than any of us thought so thats a bonus.

Yeah Murray is good to go and KJ looks like he will be solid and White well it’s always been can he stay healthy. The two biggest questions will be Vassell and Walker I am really hoping both put it together but if neither one pans out it just makes the rebuild that much longer.

I criticize pop for untold things but appreciate he finishes games with the young guys. Murray, White, Poetle have all closed and he plays two out of Johnson, Vassell, or Walker down the stretch. Invaluable to all six of this young core

Spurs played a pretty good defensive game but the Bucks were just awful

I'll bet that almost all the games the Spurs win are the ones where Forbes shoots well.

Great win. They have flaws (duh) but they’ve played good ball overall imo. Glad to see them get a W vs a good team. And Dejounte what a stretch…so happy for him man. Long time coming.

Told yall we shouldn't take a win vs Spurs lightly...the talent may not be elite but your team plays hard and Pop is far from his prime but u don't forget how to coach...

I think I am growing more optimistic because I hadn’t factored in all the “fake stars” in the league that rely on FT shooting to put points on the board. I don’t know how long the tougher refereeing on offensive players launching themselves at defenders will last but while it’s going on, the Spurs defensive schemes will keep them close in most games. Then it comes down to whether they can make a shot when they need it…
but maybe I am a prisoner of the moment… They are also due to get blown out soon.

That is the fear. Couldnt finish watching the 4th . When i left Bryn and Thaddeus were contributing.

In any case, great win. The team needed it for their psyche

did not think we can win a game when vassell and Walker do not contribute offensively at all but the defense was really good and as long as teams do not actively attack Forbes on every possession its possible for him to stay in the game …also nice outing by Young who remembered to just play basketball. definitely prefer him over Eubanks

DJ and DW backcourt through 6 games:

    - Averaging 15 assists to 4 turnovers p/game. 3.75 A/TO ratio. Outstanding.

    - Both only shooting ~ 43% on the season, 31% on 3, less than 70% from the line. Low but feel it will climb. Taking great shots, whole team is struggling shooting the ball consistently atm too.

    - A whopping 3.7 steals p/game and 1.5 blocks p/game , and that only tells part of the story. They have been consistently good on that end all season.

    - DJ is grabbing ~ 22% of the team’s total defensive rebounds so far this season. Speaks volumes of just how valuable a skill it is but also to the deficiencies (so far) at the 3 and 4 positions in that dept. I am somewhat buoyed though by KJ’s rebounding and interior defence in the Milwaukee road win as felt that was vastly improved.

Still a believer in this backcourt and if the shooting trends upwards while maintaining their stellar playmaking and defence…

The games I've seen so far this season have shown the Spurs players to be very engaged and giving very good effort. That's a good sign. The talent shortfall is not anything new. With no consistent closer, the win total will suffer over the course of 82 games. 25-30 wins seems to be a reasonable estimate. This team is more interesting to watch compared to the last 2 seasons.
