Meanwhile, Rudy Gay hit 5 threes tonight in his season debut.

But yeah, DeMar/Rudy/Patty were the problem....just gotta let the young guns run and everything would be better, right?

Be careful what you wish for, people. The grass ain't always greener.
Ehhh, the grass looks greener right now than it looked last season, tbh, despite losing games (or maybe because of it). I was never in the all-out-tank camp, but also wasn't in on the Mid-3 camp, and watching last season's team stumble their way into a play-in loss as their ceiling was awful enough. No purpose, no real hope of contention, no sense to carrying on with that.

The losing sucks... In the moment. We won't remember these games next season nor the next one, but we will more than likely remember and bask in the talents that a top pick will get us. I don't know if it'll be a franchise player, but it'll surely be better than what we have this season, and surely better than what we've been having the last couple seasons. I didn't like watching DeRozan-ball, it was plenty frustrating when it mattered most.

Having said that, the most entertaining part is still the SpursTalk cliff-jumping, tbh. Depreciating jokes for days

Cliff-jumping is what we do best....myself included I try to keep an even keel but man...it's frustrating watching the Spurs lose all the time. We got spoiled by 20+ years of winning teams.

those guys weren't making any difference. We couldn't make the playoffs with or without them. Now giving demar away for nothing definitely didnt help the talent

25 pt losses to a team 4 games under .500 (coming in), on a back to back, is our new normal fam.

which btw, I'm cool with. what I'm not cool with is having that record and not playing your #12 pick. un-furking-acceptable stuff from pop.

im not looking forward to rc and co. blowing all their cap space to resign murray, and poodle in another couple of seasons. The time to win was now while they were on cheap deals

It was better they all left. Not cause the Spurs are a better team cause of it, but because those 3 shouldn’t have been part of the sinking ship. With them, we were a 35 win team at best. Now all 3 are playing on contenders and deserve to have that kind of success

poeltl sucked against all good bigs this season … he just prevents the layup line from the smaller opponents which neither drew nor young can do

Yeah, his help defense and rim protection is elite but his man defense has been pretty average. Not sure what the stats say, but I don't feel like he has had an impact against other quality bigs.

He only played 14 minutes. Feel sorry for your wife if that’s what you consider “all night “.

Can someone get to Pop so he can realize that sticking around for the record is pointless? It's going to broken someday anyway.

Doc Rivers is 300 wins away and 12 years younger, hasn't won less than 40 in a full season in like 9 years. If Doc coaches to 72 and keeps changing teams to stick with compe ive teams like he has the record will be his.

And if not him Spoelstra who could coach another 21 years.

And if not him someone else eventually.
    This.

We had 20mil contract not playing. The spurs could traded youth for a legit player. But they were not dedicated to the retool.

Coaching is taxing. I can foresee spoelstra going into the head office once Riley retires. Rivers gets fired in two years.

Yup! I told these guys that Pop plays the old heads because the young guys just weren't that good. Now the young guys are playing at the break neck pace everybody wanted and all their flaws are showing... now it's all on Pop. There is no satisfying spurs fans.

SA isn't a prime destination for free agents so we have to strike gold in the draft or hope we get a vet to come and rehab their career for a few years. Now that the young guys are finally getting the shot we all asked for and it's clear they suck, we can do a real tank and get an even better draft position.

You are correct but we should have done this two or three years ago - We should have traded Aldridge, Rudy, DEROZZ, and gotten something rather then getting nothing or a very minor pick. Either way this team is not going to get its best talent from Free Agency it’s draft or bust

I agree. I've been wanting to tank every since Kawhi quit on us.
