Cam fits the current Spurs’ vision of having a PF with wing skills. I reeeeally don’t see them going for any John Collins-type or Myles Turner-type PFs anytime in the near future.

I don't care how many points Forbes scored, it was ridiculous to see Hornet after Hornet, especially Hayward, take it right to Forbes chest and then jump over him for an easy shot. Throw in all the broken defensive rotations on his part and he needs to have a stellar offensive night just to be a semi positive player.

didn't even make a troll prediction since I thought the Spurs would win easily. Worst loss of the season in a season full of them.

To solve the 4 issue, they have to find a player who strikes a perfect balance between finesse and strength. Charlotte has all these wide yet suitably lengthy forwards who would have a field day if they went against a shot blocking lanky type forward everyone fantasizes about. The next 4 has to be a guy who is tall, but not too tall that it impacts his lateral quickness and also strong enough to bully guys occasionally. Obviously has to be a shooter, too.
I don't see any competent 4 to be any worse off from what we have now. Even last year's version of luka might better than what we have now, at least on D.

Damn I‘m glad I didn’t even watch 1 second of this game

I kinda knew this was going to happen. Has Pop ever beaten Borrego yet? Correct me if I‘m wrong, but I think Borrego is like 5-0 against Pop

If they could get Cam Reddish, they should. Not that I have strong feelings about Cam reaching his potential, but there’s a flier that makes sense since he was roommates with Tre Jones. The “building block” four will likely come via the draft.
Hawks want a 1st so they can avoid eating up dollars and rather stretch out the cost over a rookie deal. I can't think of anything that works for Hawks. Like a Spurs 1st is going to be top 10. It'll take Forbes or Walker to match salaries.

Isn't Landale listed at 6'11 and Eubanks at 6'9? I do not have a chance to see them side by side yet.
Yes that was his listed height down here in australia playing in the nbl so they both can't be off . Weight 110kg

Is Landale on the roster tonight? Insane that he can't buy a minute no matter how the Spurs play
It's time to put pop out to pasture. His shtick only works when surrounded by one all time great and two other generational talents. His team plays .333 ball without that benefit and because of his intransigence to play young fresh players, won't ever suck sufficiently to get a top 5 pick.

We're in . or at least the transition to where nothing changes and players like Primo and Landale have to sell their souls to the dev, err Pop, to get PT.

The Hornets are really good this year, guys. Settle down about this being the worst lose of season etc., that's clearly still the loss to OKC...

Cam Reddish at the 4 is an awful idea. Spurs need a more traditional sized 4 who can protect the rim so Poeltl isn't playing 1 on 5 in the paint with the only help being DJ and Vassel weak side defense. Someone like Myles Turner would be perfect, although we definitely won't be able to make the best offer the pacers could get for him.

I saw some articles about Sabonis wanting out of Indiana. If we could possibly land him, would he solve some of our problems?

I agree this team is going nowhere with Pop as the head coach. Just about all of his team building, roster construction, and game minute distribution principles are out dated.

Pop is by far and away the worst in the league when it comes to subs utions. Most of the lineups he puts on the floor are head scratching. He has like...4 lineups where we have exactly one player who can shoot a bunch of 3s.

Hilariously enough when the spurs just shoot league average on attempts and makes from 3...we win the game. When we don't....we lost the game...but we are 27 games in and Pop has not made any real motion to do anything to increase the number of 3's we play...like play a center who is on our team who will shoot open 3's. Would rather play a center who can't do anything but dunk...assuming he doesn't fumble the ball first...

Actually...has Drew played since he made that corner 3

Awful idea or not, it’s what the Spurs have implemented for years and I don’t think they’re going to deviate from that plan. They see a wing-type forward as the future for that PF position, and not the traditional type. The Spurs wish they had a younger Rudy Gay because he’s the exact archetype they’re looking for. The Hawks play Cam at the 4. I don’t think you realize how few teams play guys like Myles Turner at the 4 in the league, and likely for good reason.

Was hoping Pop try Landale at 5 and Young at 4 with Vassel, Jones/Forbes and Walker we would have a quite decent 2nd team.

I do know that Keldon sucks at the 4. I knew this last year and big surprise it's still the same this year. Dude SHOULD not be playing the 4. Keldon is a bench player. He's a very good bench player too. Vassell is your starter. But I'm ok with giving KJ this year to either figure it out and progress or just remain the same and kinda be who he is currently, a very high end bench player.

Would've been nice though to Have Gordon Hayward on this team. I still say we should've traded for him. Dude would be perfect, absolutely perfect for this team. He would be replacing McBuckets btw so that is obviously a huge upgrade. Gordon can shoot, he moves well off the ball, he can playmake, and he plays just so smart and in the flow of the offense where he won't demand our pound the air out of the ball. He is also decent at defense. But everyone here said he was washed and not worth his contract.

We have exactly 2 positions I would say figured out. Murray at the PG and Vassell at wherever the Pop is going to play him. Idk if thats a SG or SF either. What do ya'll think?

I had to check out after around the 2nd quarter...looks like I didn't miss much.

If I'm feeling masochistic later, I'll go back and watch the rest.

I get that Landale having range allows him to work with Young on offense but this is a nightmare idea on defense.

It'd be nice to get a perfect fit 4, but anyone who's actually a 4 would improve this team. Mcdermott and Keldon are both physically 3's. KBD is a 3-4 tweener (the bad kind; 3 strength, 4 speed). , Kyle Anderson, who spurstalk whined about, would be a huge improvement over what we have.

I understand due to the lack of speed, but probably just run a 2-3 Zone guard the 3s and rim. Our currently defense is not good either.
