The Biden administration vax-only COVID strategy (deemphasizing masks, social distancing, travel restrictions, quarantine, rapid testing, contact tracing, air quality, ventilation, etc.,) was political, so it makes sense the approval process has been too.
For better and for worse, public health policy is politics. Judging by the fruits, the inordinate emphasis on vaccines has not been successful so far at the population level.

" the inordinate emphasis on vaccines has not been successful so far at the population level."
... because Trash and right wing hate media have homicidally convinced 10Ms NOT to get vaccinated.
That's not the fault of the Biden administration.
Where did the Biden admin downplay "masks, social distancing, travel restrictions, quarantine, rapid testing, contact tracing, air quality, ventilation, etc.," ?
goddamn the press, doing its damndest to trash the Biden administration
...and it's a workin' splendidly...

Let us proceed...
Don't get vaccinated and you probably deserve to be on the 46th President's ledger tbh.
The worst shot I ever got is when I went into the Air Force and they gave us a peanut butter shot upon arrival. Didn't even tell us. I couldn't figure out what the happened. I'm in boot camp, and missing the girl terribly. I get up, middle of the night, go into the latrine to pull it and I mean, bumster, nothing.
The kicker, bumster? Half-a-century later, I wake up, middle of last night, this time on the couch and I mean, bumster, nothing.

if case projections and infection sequelae (long COVID) remain consistent with what we've seen hitherto, the current Omicron wave could be the largest mass disabling event in US history. short of hospitalization and death a lot of terrible things can happen to people.
Yeah, we have several years of widespread malaise ahead
At least three more.![]()
still trying to make fetch happen
I'm looking forward to the "it's not Biden it's the sequelae" excuse![]()
Myth. That's just stress![]()
You can only hope.
I hope it doesn't happen. As you may recall, I'm the guy for more aggressive public health policy, you're the guy who says the public doesn't exist and nothing should be done to help it.

You're the guy who had to sequester because he didn't maintain proper social distancing.

Opinions...I have had covid and first 2 Pfizer vaccination. I'm planning to get a booster next week. I was thinking about changing it up and getting the Moderna booster. Anyone read if this is a good plan?

You've already had two boosters, tbh.
I dont see a problem with getting another. The first two didn't kill me. I was actually asking about mixing/matching boosters. I have seen both opinions.
Looks like I will bump with pfizer.
Switching is fine safety wise. Although they all target the same wild type e there may be some variation between the vaccines which theoretically might give you a somewhat broader antibody response. I'm not aware of any actual science on that so it's just a theoretical. You could also consider getting a J&J which is a completely different platform. The only problem with J&J is it's dead in the water in this country so you will be in the dark as far as future studies go. Which is the reason I switched to Moderna for my 2nd dose.
Listening to TWiV, they think ideally you would wait 9 months for your 3rd dose but a minimum 6 months. Since you have had a severe covid infection and are double vaccinated you probably don't need a booster at all. That said, there are no known safety concerns and since you are 65+ (I think) I'd say go for it. FWIW, my own doctor got the moderna booster after originally getting the 2 pfizer doses.
