A Republican official who opposed coronavirus vaccines, and tried to block certification of President Joe Biden's election win, died after being hospitalized with COVID-19.
The New York Times reported that William Hartmann's sister said he had been hospitalized with the disease, writing on Facebook before his death that he was "in ICU with Covid pneumonia and currently on a ventilator."
Gustavo Portela, a communications director for the Michigan GOP, confirmed Hartmann's death, The Detroit News reported. He was 63.

Not all unvaxxed are antivax. It's not recommended for kids under five years old and lots of immunocompromised folks. Social and ideological pressure not to are also considerable for some. Quite a few parents probably forbid their kids who are eligible.

Looks like aircraft in the US and the new filtration systems are working well.
Anecdotal: I have flown I believe six times and have another flight coming up. I wear a very good mask in the airport and on the plane. I used to get head colds if I was very worn out and could never figure it out. Since this stuff has happened absolutely nothing. I have not been sick one time with anything. I will wear a mask on flights and in airports regardless from know on.
I think the airports themselves are probably worse. And I have only flown on US carriers. But older folks... I would stay out of these crowded spots.

Making public health dummy-proof is the constant battle and wishing death on people you despise doesn't improve it. So long as we're talking about infectious disease, "stupid people" don't exist in epidemiological or social bubbles, their lives and deaths affect lots of non-stupid, supposedly more worthy-to-live people. Like for example their smart kids.
