If Spurs can get up around .500, does DJ make the All-Star game? I think he has to be considered as a coaches pick
Yeah, the announcers kept talking about how the Spurs were shooting like 40% and still up 25. That's what happens when you give up 2 shots for each of yours.

White being a good 3pt shooter is a myth. His career percentage is mediocre.
He has never been a good 3pt shooter, but this year he is taking worse 3s than usual... Many more off the dribble and contested 3s
He's so streaky. He'll get hot for a week or two, and looks borderline All-Star when that shot is falling.
Then he'll keep going back to the well and find it dry...which seems to get in his head and affect his game overall.
he flicks his wrist -as if putting a spin on the ball when he shoots
cannot understand where the is chip engle-whatever
to correct this
watch him shoot - right as he releases- his wrist spins OUT- instead of straight ahead
And that's if he's actually available to play and not sidelined with a stubbed toe...
The middle of the standings do seem abnormally compressed for being 30 games in. I might look at past years later on to see if this feeling is correct.
Going by scoring margin, which is a better predictor of future games than W/L record, the Spurs are playing like a team that's right around 0.500. You'd only have to change a few buckets to have the Spurs be 14-16, which would be very close to teams like Boston and Dallas.
This Spurs team still has an uphill climb to make the play-in, but imo they are better than their record says.
Quite possible. If averaging a triple-double on a bad team can get Westbrook an MVP award, Murray's counting stats could get him into the ASG. I think you're right that the Spurs would have to at least be close to 0.500 though. Murray's counting stats aren't that gaudy.
And remember, even that point differential is biased downward because of the time Poeltl missed due to health and safety protocols. When fully healthy, this is a .500 or better team.
Spurs win baby!
Dejounte's second half vs the Kings and 1st ha lf vs the Clippers, is pretty much what we are hoping Dejounte can be.
Great performance from him.
It'd be interesting to see if Keldon can average 40% from three for an entire season with a decent amount of attempts, he might just be on a hot stretch.
Nice bounce back game from Landale, he'll keep getting minutes if he keeps playing like that.
The Spurs are proving they can win any game, and the road isn't really a stumbling block like in recent years' past. They can also lose any game, and they've proven that too.
We're still not in the doldrum portion of the season where lots of teams take their foot of the gas. If the Spurs can stay focused they might be able to creep up above .500 which would be crazy to even think about. Of course, they're one large COVID protocol away from a tank, too. This group walks the tightrope between good and horrible like no Spurs team I've even seen before.
you should apply for the spurs shooting coach job
At the risk of sounding positive, this team is so much more enjoyable to watch than in recent seasons.
Win or lose, they are growing, learning, trying to play the right way and pulling for each other.
DJM has taken such a huge step forward as a player and a leader. The Spurs should talk about trading him every off season.
Don't look now, but a King's player just entered health and safety protocols:
Fortunately he didn't play, but he was probably around all the guys who did.
No doubt Oscar Robertson would have been on that list if they tracked steals his whole career.
watch him shoot…
also- most of his misses rattle and hit the rim on both sides/back forth then pop out
interesting stat
its great to see dejounte doing so well. i truly believe he is still getting better and may not hit his peak until a year or 2 from now.
I agree for sure, a 27/28 year old DJ is going to be a force. His improvement has been amazing, especially his passing. Who in world would have thought 30 games into the season DJ would be 4th in the league in assist.
That’s pretty cool.
Also, joker is pretty damn good.
this summer we were all ready to trade him for a guy that fell off the face of the earth.
Off season doubts on Dejounte Murray aged like MILK.
I'll also point out the DJ predicted this on Twitter during the off season. He LOLd at trade rumors and said he was going to come back and surprise everyone. The man did exactly what he said he'd do. DJ Murray is "Quality individual" and SPURS MATERIAL unlike Leonard who is a little boy fraud with gamey stringy muscle.
Not all dumbass Spurstalk posters were ready to trade him. Ex still is though; so White can take over of course. LOL. DJ has a “low BBIQ” didn’t you know.
