He most definitely would have improved faster with NBA reps and training... Worked for Giannis
This is exactly what many of us were expecting when we asked to move on from the DeRozan and Aldridge era. An infinitely more fun team to watch while not losing much (if anything) in terms of compe iveness. And to think we had to bare folks saying we were crazy and the Spurs would become a show without those two. Some of these folks are now first in line to say how entertaining this young bunch is. Not gonna drop names but yall know who you are.![]()

Exactly
i somewhat expected a letdown (win close)
but youngins impressed
win 1 of the next 2 would be awesome then road trip
Did it work for Poku? How about Stanley Johnson? Yet you choose an MVP as your point? Come on man.
Does Matt Bonner live elsewhere?
yup ,spurs are not a worse team without derozan, mills, gay, lma&lyles. They might even make the playoffs .
matt has been broadcasting from his home in New Hampshire ever since COVID hit. before that, he would broadcast from the AT&T center.
Mitc out for tonight's game vs. Utah.
Finally got to catch the 2nd half.
Primo looks pretty close to being NBA ready. I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the rotation by the end of January.
Eubanks looks like he needs to go back to the GLeague, and maybe take Forbes with him.
word in the NBA is the Pistons will try to move Jerami Grant at the deadline for an expiring deal, a young player and a pick. While a lot of teams are interested, I wonder if Thad, Walker and the Chicago pick would be worth it.
I don't know what Detroit would want with Thaddeus Young. He's important to contenders and they're certainly not. Walker doesn't move the needle much by himself.
I wouldn't exactly call anyone on an NBA roster a scrub. But I get your point.
they just want an expiring to shed the salary. Could be a 3-team deal. Grant would basically improve everything the Spurs need to improve on while replacing Walker off the bench with McDermott. Spurs would be top 4 or 5 in the west easily
Here's a problem with his passing. Kinda hard to describe with words, but here goes. He often just passes using his extended dribbling hand without bringing the ball into full control. To do that properly IMO you have to bring the hand back and it at the wrist. If you just loft it from an already extended position, you have no velocity and are asking for a deflection or a interception because this league has faster players than he is used to. Easily corrected, but it's there.
Regarding Primo and his passing:
I was incredibly annoyed with Forbes last night because of his inability or outrig5 refusal to pass for the easy score. The most egregious was not hitting Lonnie for an alley oop. Then another play happened a short while later where his Forbes-ness didn't pass.
I'm confident Primo would have hit those passes.
That's the thing with Forbes, he does nothing to help a team win and even his shooting might not be enough, Milwaukee couldn't justify him on the floor with all world defenders like Giannis, jrue, Lopez, Tucker, or Middleton. If Primo was in his place there'd be the shooting, but the floor of the team would be raised because there'd be better defense, better passing,, better transition, better early offense, etc etc
