they played last night is my only guess then had to fly halfway across the country. maybe Vegas thinks they lost half their players to covid too like Detroit did.
either way, it is somewhat surprising.
Walker is questionable for tonight. I didn't know how many players are out for the Heat. I don't even know who they are starting.
As of an hour ago per Paul Garcia
Here's who the Heat have available as of right now for today's game:
1. D Robinson
2. T Herro
3. O Yurtseven
4. C Martin
5. M Garrett
6. A Holman (once signed)
7. K Guy (once signed)
K Okpala is questionable or Heat need to sign 1 more G-League player
Heat literally have nobody to suit up. Spurs better get their heads in the game and take this W
This season is bizarro season. Depth is key. Spurs need to draft another 10 guards just in case.

The Miami Heat are signing C Aric Holman of the G-League Austin Spurs to a 10-day hardship deal, sources tell ESPN. His best attribute today? Driving distance. He's on his way to San Antonio to meet the Heat and help them have 8 active players to avoid a postponement vs. Spurs.

I’d hate it to be David Robinson’s son![]()
Spurs need to redeem themselves for that Jazz lost, which I thought was winnable. Poeltl without Bam should be a top 10 center tonight
Spurs by 28 pts![]()
Tim Reynolds: There is a chance – repeat, a chance – that Heat-Spurs won’t be played tonight, source tells AP. Still very fluid based on whether Heat can fill roster or has more depletion. If it is called off, it would be postponement No. 10 in the NBA this season.

If Ca is out because of health protocols, (eg Covid) , you can bet that more Spurs will follow. I wonder if the NBA will change the protocols to follow the NEW CDC quarantine recommendations of 5 days. ????
Spurs better win this game. Can’t have another lapse against a ty team. San Antonio needs to be extra precautious against Covid. This is one of those things on the margins that San Antonio used to emphasize to gain advantages versus the compe ion
I had always wondered how the league would look with a rule that no player could play more than 66 games, but have rosters expanded to 18. It would reward depth over top-heaviness and would likely reduce load management shenanigans because everyone would have to do it.
We're getting that by accident this year. Some players will play 82 but I bet it will be a far lower number than in normal years.
Spurs should win this game if it's played, but then probably send half their roster into protocol courtesy of the Heat...
Just give them Forbes and Eubanks...permanently, if possible.

NBA basically has told Heat to take any three available players from G League Austin Spurs, taking all lengths to limit postponement of games, currently at 10.
Don’t forget Thad, which would be a sigh of relief for Pop.
What a ing joke
I do not see this NBA season making it to the end…
I do not see how any real playoffs and real finals happen at all…
Covid doesn’t have any loyalty to any team btw
Wrong date on thread also btw
What a joke, Butler and Robinson both played 35 minutes last night, but now they're "injured".
