Just this season, not playing Landale for 30 games or Primo at all, etc. Overplaying Forbes. Screwing around with Thad Young. Vassell's limited minutes. Etc.
I totally agree his coaching has been highly questionable at best, AND multiple times over the past few years, not just here recently. I just don't want to be that guy that acts like I know what's in his heart about coaching these cats. Perhaps it's not the record thats driving him at all. Perhaps it is. Only he knows that. But if not, his coaching decisions are suspect at minimum. Now despite this team looking like it might actually be a decent playoff contender in a down year for the western conference, the team is having to dig itself out of an early season (coaching) hole very much of pop's making. And it might be too much to overcome to get where they need to be at season's end. Guess we'll see.

Yeah it is puzzling why Becky isn’t right there in the running as Pop’s successor. She appears qualified from my vantage point as she has studied under one of the best for quite some time, ACTUALLY played pro ball SUCCESSFULLY, has the respect of her players and knows the system. Was Pop just patronizing her and everyone else by making her the first women’s HC? She probably has new and refreshing ideas which is already a major improvement over Pop in his current capacity.

I new Pop wasn’t leaving this year cause everyone would say he just stayed to get record and that would hurt his big ass EGO. So him coaching next season is away to prove to people it was never about the record
I agree I am pretty sure no one on current staff nor ex Spurs player will be next coach. It will be someone from the outside and probably from the College ranks
God willing (if his health holds up), Pop may end up coaching another 3 to 5 years, stunting Primo's growth will at it.
Someone here mentioned the Spurs wanted Jay Wright of Villanova. I don't know if that's true, if he'd even be willing to come, or what it would take. A quick google search said that he makes just under $4mil per year and recently (supposedly) turned down an offer at UCLA for $7.75mil per year to stay where he is.
He was assistant coach under Pop at the Olympics and he's already in the basketball hall of fame. He's not "young", but he is 12 years younger than Pop.
