Saw very little so how about those of you who did watch the horror show.

White turnover with Spurs up by 1 with 58 seconds to go in OT: F
Poodles nutmeg and then his high arcing 3 inch leap to attempt to block the game winner: C for Comedy.
Jock Landale: Sounds like B+ or A-
Primo: Bummer man his shot abandons him after finally getting a little burn. Still did other things well: C?
Bryn Bryn: Shooting game of the century for him in 4th and OT? B?

CIA Snooze: F. Don't even try to argue Slurpers.

I didn't see the game but only the highlights because of family thing. It looks like our guys got beaten by G leaguers and that’s inexcusable. The old Spurs team would’ve played better regardless who’s on the court, and that has always been Spurs’ mantra, playing well no matter who’s on the court because they play within a “system.” I remember Pop would DNP our big 3 on a nationally televised games and Spurs would even win. This team loses a player like DJM or Poodle, and the whole team collapsed. Inexperienced or lack of good players or combination of both?

There's something to be said about the "team" collapsing entirely when they only lose a single player (granted, it was actually 3 last night, but I somehow doubt Lonnie being there would've made a significant difference, lol). The Pistons had something like 7? players out, were playing G-L guys, and still managed to be the better team last night.

You're absolutely on point with the "Pop DNP the Big 3 and Spurs still won". Of course, those teams were top-to-bottom better than the current Spurs and it's to be expected... But only to a certain extent. If you can't trust a single player to have that "next man up" mentality and start pulling up for the team once a single one of them goes down... What's the end game there?

I haven't really left team tank throughout the season, despite the wins, because of this.

Well in my defense this thread didn’t go so well for you. Maybe better luck next time with your algorithm.

This game isn't really worth grading.

Spurs were mostly healthy and lost to a bunch of guys who were bagging groceries two weeks ago in Detroit.

    Team grade: F

honestly, to me it looked like jakob and keldon spent the entire night trying to get in a new year's eve celebration. they looked like a couple of guys running on fumes or two hours of sleep.

I mean two young fellas who work pretty damn hard otherwise and have money in the bank trynna have fun? Meaningless game in a season where a lottery pick is sort of a priority? I have no problem with that.

yeah-at first, i was fuming about the effort against the pistons until i realized the team had a flight from memphis that night. and, yes, this is not unique but most back to backs on the road don't take place on new year's eve. even sean elliott had mentioned how bad the scheduling for this game was and that was a week before they even had the game. it sure would be hard to tell the younger players to just check into the hotel and go to sleep.

I sat court-side Dec 30/17, Spurs/Pistons in Detroit and we got dusted. Danny Green rode a cycle in front of me half the game but it wasn’t a contest 10 mins in. I already knew what time it was when I bought the tickets. How many ppl on this board mail it in a little around the holidays?
