I'm halfway done with the book so far, reading it before I watch the show and if the TV show is half as sexually graphic as the book is especially all the craziness of it all, then that'll be something.
Spoiler of an example, I'll be vague:
Let's just say there was a part in the first part of the book where a dude gets swallowed up by a vagina for example, like a snake swallowing its prey.
Show is doooooope. Mad TV black guy *KILLS* it in the 2nd episode coming to america scene. Absolutely kills it.
Shadow's acting kinda rubs me weird, but overall a great show and I'm in for the long haul. Will prob re-read the book after season 1, as I hear they're breaking the book into 3 seasons.
I'm not going to claim to be a historian of Gaiman's work, but I did read that last year and didn't find it explicit at all after the midpoint. it's a hard show to describe. "closer to urban fantasy" like chinook said is right.

Season 2 is an improvement. They're fleshing out Shadow much deeper this time. Sweeney too.
Still wish the sucker punch chick be written out. She sucks the life out of the show.

Is there anywhere to watch this other than Starz? I'm a major Bryan Fuller fan, and Neil Gaiman is the , so I've been wanting to watch this for a while.

I was premature in my assessment of season 2.
First 3 episodes were good but the second half was hot trash.
thinking about finally watching season 2. i'm glad to hear it's not bad. i've been iffy cause of the writers shakeup.

Think so, they got rid of the showrunner after season 1 as well.
Dang. That’s to bad. This was a pretty decent show. Nothing amazing, but it was a fun watch.
I always wanted to come back to this show. Had such potential. Sucks.
