Omicron is really just the 'red deer' event they've been warning about on 4chan finally coming home to roost. Pretty much all my vaxxed friends/co-workers have caught this omicron and many have been infected multiple times. I'm unvaxxed and haven't even had as much as the sniffles since this whole thing started. This is probably due to Antibody-dependent Enhancement (ADE)
ADE is when obsolete antibodies enhance infection with a mutated strain of a virus that has evolved to evade antibodies from earlier in the pandemic. When a person produces these obsolete antibodies, they fail to neutralize the virus during infection, and the virus is able to replicate better than it would otherwise, because with a normal infection, the person would simply generate a novel immune response to respond to a novel infection. With ADE, the ability to generate a novel immune response is suppressed because the immune system was previously primed, but in this case, the antibodies no longer work, so your body doesn't respond with a coherent or effective immune response. Not all viruses work this way, and the risk with a rapidly mutating RNA virus during a pandemic is greater, and this is also why SARS-1 vaccines all failed and caused illness in the vaccinated. I remember this being discussed as likely to happen in February 2020
