How absurd, the US has done approximately zilch on eradication since the 2020 circuit breaker shutdown. We've had rampant, uncontrolled community transmission in the the US, not COVID-zero politics. Reasonable mitigation efforts have long since been abandoned in favor of vax only myopia.
Rampant transmission of Alpha, Beta and Delta didn't protect us from Omicron, why do you think Omicron will protect us from what comes afterward?

More things seemed possible a year and a half ago. Public health is hard. You float a lot of ideas trying to think things through. Some of them will be wrong, not sure what's so disgraceful about that.

my state down here is 17-20k cases a days, problem is the stupid govt doesnt records positive cases from the antigen test kits... which means the real number is higher...

Unless the mandate is "do not admit unvaccinated COVID visitors to the hospital," I'm fine with having no mandates of any kind.
Let those who roll the dice suffer the consequences. We're down to a negligible amount of blameless victims at this point. Those who are vaccinated have very little to worry about, and those who are still worried can self quarantine.
those who are vaccinated still have to worry due to monkeys with covid still out about spreading that , even if your close contact u still have to isolate at home means no work, no money...businesses struggling with not enough workers which hurts the supply chain in some industries like food...time to purge the population and deny antivax clowns a hospital bed...
