One other thing to note...I know we all about Forbes around here and is defense is spectacularly awful, but he was a good soldier and his shooting actually kept us in some games when nobody else could buy a bucket.

I'm hyped to see Primo play, but I don't think he's at a level to really move the needle yet, so this move may signal that the tank is legitimately on.
Forbes is gone and we might end up with a top 5 pick?

    Everything is coming up Milhouse!

As long as he doesn't come back again (knocks on wood)...
I wouldn’t be shocked if he came back after he’s done playing. Pop seems to love the kid. I could see him being a coach in the future.

Where are all the people who said a) Forbes wouldn't be traded cause no one would want him, b) Pop won't trade Forbes, and C) the Spurs won't make a trade.

Special S/O if you're one of the few triple threats who managed to fall in all three categories.
probably the same posters who are ing that all we got in return was hernangomez.

Now that the anti-sniffers favorite whipping boy is gone, who does the pack descend upon? Hernangomez? Eubanks? Lonnie?

The last time Spurs traded Pop’s favorite, they fielded the rights to draft Kawhi. I think there’s more to come.

Oh, yeah. This is only the first domino. JHG rights may be flipped for a larger ending contract and pick before the deadline, as another poster proposed. That might give another team tax relief.

lonnie might not get traded but at least there's a chance he gets offered this summer and is gone via free agency. as to hernangomez, looks like he's due for just over $6.6 mil next season. forbes would have been a FA this summer so not sure what the spurs are thinking here so hopefully the speculation mentioned above turns out to come true.

JHG's contract for next year is 100% unguaranteed. They'll cut him, and it should be thought of as expiring.

Lonnie, for sure. He's had high expectations, and has really just been....meh.

I really want him to do well...but he only does well like 1 out of 5 games, so he needs to clean that up.

Nobody expects Eubanks to be good, and Juancho probably won't even see minutes unless we get ravaged by COVID again.

AND the Spurs got paid to cover the difference in salary. Overall, it was pretty fantastic by the Spurs. The only way this can go south is if they guarantee Hernangomez and end up waiving him like they did with Daye.

What are the rules on Hernangomez being rerouted before the deadline? Is it possible or is there a wait period that expires after the deadline?

Apparently Nuggets protected the 2028 2RP for 31-33, i.e. if they're horrible. Spurs also get $2.35 mil in cash.
