It was worth $1000+ as wire. It was only worth $370 as scrap. I had to buy it back.

Wait, you had to buy it back from the guy that bought it from the thief?

You have a real slam dunk on that guy way more than the thief.

    You really are stupid.

He bought it in a legitimate sale and got ID etc. On the seller. He only knew it was stolen for sure after I identified it. And yeah I bought it back for what he paid for it since it would cost me three times that to replace it.

The law says nothing about "knowing" it was stolen. It is illegal to sell stolen property. PERIOD.

Why did the murder rate drop for twenty years or so with no public executions?

I'm guessing you don't realize that having 1 thing work doesn't mean it's the only thing that works.. You don't seem like a very smart person. You do seem like a chatty person though.

The law says nothing about "knowing" it was stolen. It is illegal to sell stolen property. PERIOD.
In order to be convicted of this, you need to do so knowingly and the prosecutor has to prove intent. Receiving stolen property is also against the law, do you suggest they should prosecute the guy who informed you? Sucks this happened to y'all, but the cops are trying to blame the DA for something that is incredibly standard. Did you get upset at the cops for not going CSI on your building to find the dude's DNA?

The truth is the cops don't care about your burglary. But they are 100% not going to sit there and be rational about it because cops aren't in the business of being rational about things like that. They'd rather play the victim.

Pussy assed DA could still have policy that cops go and interview the that stole CCs wire.

Protecting the criminals thru spiness laws is bull .

I reimbursed him his cost. I'm glad he bought it. It is material i use and would have to replace. I save $800 getting it back.

Good illustration of criminality being a social construct, tbh. CC is totally willing to overlook the shadiness of receiving stolen goods from a homeless druggie.

DA will not spend $$$$ on iffy case involving theft of $1,000+ of stolen copper wire and homeless man who will need a public defender.

Much less spend $$$$ on iffy case involving possession of $300+ of copper wire and homeless man who will need a public defender.
