DJM is the difference in the game. He's by far the best player on the court.
That’s fair. On League Pass here and like that you can switch between the home and away feeds to hear the feedback from others on our players. Every time the Spurs seemed to score or disrupt the Lakers, the commentators were like “Well the refs can’t let him do that” etc.
Find that Bill and Sean can pass praise on the opposition like with Herb Jones tonight.
Here is the thing with folks wanting the Spurs to tank

DJ is who he is because of his compe iveness. He became as good as he is now because of his mentality.
either Pop has to be really obvious with tanking by playing Cacok as the point guard or tanking isn’t happening at all
So the playoffs are in the picture if they continue looking as good as they do now
I think letting White go really unlocked something here. Not because White is a bad player, but because it’s forcing other players to step up (Vassell and Keldon, specifically)

I guess that offensive foul call is part of the new rule this year. In every other year that was 3 FTs....I am ok with the call. I hated when players like Reggie, Karl, Harden, and Paul would pull that crap to get cheap FTs.

Exactly. If the team is going to be in tank mode, Pop has to literally start sitting his best players starting with DJM.
And then the fake injuries will begin to pop up.
Otherwise? This team can win and will try to do so.
I agree. It’s obviously early but it’s like a second reimagining of the team, similar to when the Vets departed in the Off-season.
Tre Jones also seems to be shining in a dedicated, backup PG role.
Whether it’s sustainable or not I guess isn’t of importance atm but the Spurs clearly felt comfortable making this significant of a change mid-season.

I am opposed to tanking, because it is unnatural to teach players to ball out and then all of a sudden to purposefully suck. Also, it is a slap in the face to the fanbase who pays loads of money on the team to lose on purpose. I am ok with losing if we are not the better team that night. I am not ok with us going through the motions to try and get a draft pick that may never pan out.
I am glad DJ never gave up on his midrange game and became a vanilla modern PG who just chucks up 3’s

Pelicans going under every screen, daring Dejounte to shoot a wide open mid range jumper (literally his strength) is a great example of ty coaching. Even Dejounte is laughing at them every time

BTW, I knew I recognized his voice from interviews on the radio......he kept talking about Pop and the Spurs in a positive light so I figured it was him.
another superstar game for Murray.
Murray is playing at an MVP type level right now. I am not saying he is the MVP or even a serious candidate for the full season. Right now though, he is ballin out of his damn mind.
