Russia has the capability to attack undersea cables, and conduct cyberwarfare on a massive scale, hitting the internet both physically and online.
My guess is that he will use that to disrupt Command and Control of NATO and Ukraine, since that is consistent with his pattern.

Looking close to the inflection point. Units have left bivouac areas, and are in position to advance. If the order is going to be given it will be within days.
if not... it will have been a massive, sophisticated bluff. It will mean that the next time he does something like this it will not be taken as seriously.
I think the second order consequences are going to be bad for him either way. Get into a highly unpopular war as an aggressor that draws steep sanctions, or be not taken as seriously for threats next time.
