The Spurs have a deep roster all of the sudden.

If you only allowed games between 8-12 or even 11-14 or whatever it is now, the Spurs might be a contender.

Not to say this team has a high ceiling or anything, just saying . . .

    Richardson getting Primo’s minutes.

Spurs definitely aren’t tanking. That much is certain.

if the Spurs could only play this bad all the time, they would get the top 5 pick with ease

Keldon says he believes he can be an all star one day. You can’t fault a player having that mindset. Hope he does prove the doubters wrong. Long way to go, but if he’s a hard worker and smart about what he needs to develop, he can get there.

Holy , look at the box score. He was an anchor today.
How did Roby do? See his L10 compared to game last night? It’s not a wander how other big men excel against the Spurs. Check out other bigs’ L10 production also compare to when the play the Spurs. But yup Poeltl is top 10 center.

SPLITS GP MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
    This Game 1 29.0 36.8 25.0 50.0 12.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 5.0 0.0 17.0
    L10 4 21.8 40.0 20.0 33.3 5.5 0.5 1.0 2.3 3.8 0.8 8.0

Not sure what your point is.

Poeltl has to hold down a front line without a PF, but go on.

He's developing the tools. The improvement in his three-point shot is a great start. Next he needs to develop a go-to midrange move...heck, even a floater would open up options for him so he's not just barreling into people on every drive.

Everything else seems to be between the ears for him.

I can’t believe how much he improved on his 3pt game, from that hurl almost-hitting-the-roof shot, to leading the league. And his patience to square his shoulders and make it a routine, undeterred. His 3pts reminds me of Bowen’s, money.. while peerless attacking the rim among trees like Malik.

He would be much better playing his actual position than PF

Was really happy with Devin in this game. Had a chance to fold early on and fought back to have a much better game than at Chicago.

Damn...that's actually shots fired by Pop. But he's not wrong.

I'm tired of our young guys like Walker or (now traded) White just showing up whenever they felt like it.
Imagine taking praise by Pop for one player and turning it into "shots fired." What the ? I hope you're not like this in day to day life. "Hey good job Bill" "Oh Cindy, he said you'll never be as good as Bill" ~ Dex probably

Bill Land and I guess it was Dan Weiss with him last night were talking about OKC is going to have to weed some of these young guys out because with all of the picks they have coming up, they can't keep them all and some of them won't pan out anyway. It got me to thinking if there was anyone the Spurs might be interested in but their interesting players guards and likely to be retained (SGA and Giddey).

Roby was someone I was interested in maybe drafting back in the day but I don't think he is anything beyond depth. Anybody else see anyone worth making a run at?

Most of those players are unremarkable to say the least. They really don't have a full cupboard of talent. Presti has not been drafting a lot of actual talent lately, although Mann and Poku had pretty good games last night. When you look at their recent draft history, prepared to be un-amazed. Giddey is good, but it's telling that their only other truly good player was somebody they traded for.

Selling Murray to get a top pick when Murray already is better than a top pick is really weird.
Big part of the quote you missed - "earlier in the season"... He wasn't playing like this back then. Even so, it's definitely a matter of debate whether he's better than a "top pick". You can get into bust/bad pick potential and all that, but at the end of the day, "top picks" produce the Luka's, Lebron's, , Ja's or Mobley's of the league - and I don't think DJ is better than that, at least not yet. So not that weird at all, tbh, even though I've changed my mind on the topic.

I really wonder what kinda stuff you are smoking to think trading DJ is a good idea
I really wonder what y'all are smoking if that's the takeaway you get from the comment... Again, missed the "I wanted to "sell high" on DJ earlier in the season", huh? Reading comp, fellas, I know y'all have it in you...

LOL, lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

This is definitely a Timmy-like stat line and great game from Ninja Poeltl....but this was like another night at the office for Tim whereas this will probably be like the Game Of The Year for Jakob.
