LMAO,,,,so how did Trump get almost 75 million votes if rural only makes up 20%? Biden won all the major cities but yet only won by 8 million.
I don't really care to engage with your boomer tantrums, wishcasting and conjecture but if you doubted the 20% number, all you had to do was Google it.

    https://www.census.gov/newsroom/pres.../cb16-210.html
Rural areas cover 97 percent of the nation’s land area but contain 19.3 percent of the population (about 60 million people)

Last point,,,if they disagree with the importance of the rural communities,,,,lets see their facts. I posted mine. Lets see a recent article arguing against it. I bet Nono, Chump Sucker, Wine Ho cant come up with one. So they want to blow smoke up your ass and call it truth,,,,its funny to watch.
Any voting bloc is important. The rural bloc is not growing though. Be happy you have it I guess.

LMAO,,,you might be the biggest clown on here except for Chump Sucker. So riddle me this, NoNo,,,,Biden and Hillary won all the major cities in Texas(Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin) and still lost Texas. They won Los Angeles, New York, Chicago. They won all the top cities in this US,,,,so tell me how the rural areas dont matter when Trump pulled 75 Million votes. This is why its pointless debating you dems on here. The rural communities will expand and people will commute in the city for the jobs. People will vote conservative when the move out of the city which is happening at a record pace.
You see how the dems like NoNo are on here?,,,,its comical. You post a factual article about the democrat party sweating losing the rural communities because they know it would be a disaster and yet posters like NoNo are unconvinced. Why?,,,because their stubbornness wont allow them to admit defeat. Its simple math,,,if democrats won the last two presidential elections in all Texas major cities but still lost the state,,,,how can they say rural doesnt matter? How can NoNo say....no one wants to move out of the city where the big jobs are,,,,LMAO? This is why democrats are worried. If the rural communities take over in New York and California,,,,they are toast. The article already states about Pennsylvania and others.
Last point,,,if they disagree with the importance of the rural communities,,,,lets see their facts. I posted mine. Lets see a recent article arguing against it. Fact: He lost the popular vote in BOTH elections.
Fact: 75 million votes is barely 22% of the US population.
Fact: He actually got the GOP base more engaged than any prior GOP candidate, maybe besides Reagan.
Fact: Baby boomers are still ~70 million of the US population as of 2020.

The only reason he was president is that we have an electoral college, as I already pointed out. I don't know who posted that dems are sweating the rural votes, it wasn't me, and if you ask me, Dems shouldn't even bother. It's a demographic on the decline. A more sound strategy for the GOP, demographics-wise, is to engage with the Latino population more. It can't be what they did in Florida, because Cubans represent nothing of the latino community in this country, but there are some common points (like religion) that they could exploit. We discussed that here.

Here's another fact: First time I voted for a (D) in my life was for Brandon, and solely to kick the orange loser out of the White House.

If the GOP continues to make their party the party of the giant loser, (D) are going to continue to get my vote.

You already know how deep that rabbit hole goes. No EC, the entire voting dynamic shifts. People know popular vote wins the presidency and historically red or historically blue states now are neither, since states can no longer be won. Candidates would campaign differently, not just stopping in their stronghold states. In fact, the entire platforms would be different since they couldn't run on stronghold state issues without considering what people in LA and NY want. So you're running a parallel universe only for the exclusion of the EC without considering the before and after would also be different. The makeup of states would be different. Clusters of people would get what they want and those scattered would get nothing. I think fewer people would actually vote. If you think your vote doesn't matter in a state of 23m, think of a voting pool of 150m or more. How much is your one vote going to matter now?

Hey, I'm not the one complaining about the popular vote here, nor I'm playing the "what if we didn't have an EC system" game, I'm merely describing the reality we live in. I don't even deny that campaigning would look different, I'm just stating the system we have, which gives us the results we get.

I mean, Trump campaigned on a primarily liberal platform, oftentimes to the left of Shillary (on critical areas as well, like healthcare, wall street, isolationism). So he did already campaign very differently than your average GOP politico.
It's something you can do when you're a relative unknown with no political history, especially since the conservative platform has been clearly unappealing for a long time, including the stupid litmus tests.

Obviously, after his first term, the con was up, but, again, Democrats have their own gimmicks going on, and are pretty inept, so the amount of pretending-not-to-be-a-conservative you need to eventually win again is not that high of a bar.
That said, even with the EC, it's simply harder to win when you consistently lose the popular vote. There's a underlying message there about your politics and party. This is why only one party is really adamant to restrict voting. High turnout is not in their favor (at least at this time), that's also a reality.

Strictly looking at demographic growth, which sparked this conversation, it's plain stupid to look at a historical graph like this:

and then claim that rural is this political super force, or that people are shifting from urban back to rural. Not to mention that you just can't 'undo' urbanization.
You could claim that the curve eventually might peak out or flatten in the mid 80% or so, but at that point (which is not that far from now), rural is, relatively speaking, just a minuscule amount of people.

Suburbs is where things are at these days, and one could even make the claim that Trump both won and then lost due to suburban voters.

I haven't voted when the political offering hasn't convinced me to vote for them. What I didn't think I would need to do here in America is to cast a vote to save my ability to vote itself, but apparently that's a thing nowadays.

You slept while the big, giant loser claimed perfectly legal votes shouldn't be counted, and the attempted insurrection that followed (an national and historical embarrassment). Tell your nurse to tell you all about it if you forgot.

law enforcement didn't find that the reporter did anything wrong. He isn't a hacker, as Parsons tried to claim. In fact, far from it.

even if educators believe doing so will result in "abuse, abandonment, or neglect."

You know what she is good for? Ratings. Money.

The right wing propaganda machine trots her out in front of you idiots, and plays on that deep-down well of misogyny that you don't like to admit is there in modern fascism/conservatism and gins up fear and loathing. They get a few more clicks, a few more eyeballs on some adds, or a few more forwarded emails from your Trump cultist uncle.

Then, on cue, trained seals like you clap and bark. "Hillary is running in 2024" arwk arwk arwk.

    It is kinda sad.

Truck convoy delayed after organizer gets two flat tires in Pa.

Bob Bolus, the Scranton, Pa. truck driver leading a convoy to DC is reporting two flat tires -- delaying the start of their journey.

Bolus tells 7News there are currently 10 to 20 trucks staging at the starting point in Scranton, Pa. Bolus said that's not enough trucks to warrant a D.C. Beltway protest and he will make a final determination within the next hour.

Where have we heard this "You took our rights/freedom" (with dash of illegals and BLM) lunacy before? They must have run out of bipolar meds in PA!

Bob Bolus: "We're all on the same page. We're all for one thing: Freedom and rights. This is America/ You took our freedom, you took our rights, you gave it to the illegals. You took our freedom and our rights and turned them around and you gave it to the BLMs to burn buildings and not get prosecuted. The laws don't apply to them."

rural bloc losing voters rapidly from COVID.

Given differences in vaccination rates, every time I see the ulative count of the 'rona, and the steady drumbeat of unvaccinated deaths, I think it is a matter of time before we see political science papers trying to quantify just how many Republican-leaning voters croaked, and how that affects some close elections here and there.

His dumb comments sound just like those of the MAGA s that post here.

Bolus: "When you don't have your milk, your eggs or your meat or anything else or gas for your vehicles, go over and give Joe Biden a big hug because you voted for him and just understand something, you may not agree with us, but we don't agree with you. That's what makes us Americans."

All that is missing is for him to wish libs die a horrible death and praise of Pootin.
