If someone breaks into your room in the middle of the night are you going to protect yourself and your family?
Not if they busted the door and exclaimed "Police, we have a warrant!"
Though I'll be ever so grateful to discover they're actually cops and not marauders portending to be cops. That's why (no knock) should be outlawed and was supposed to be after that case back East a few years ago, but is was not and now this youngster is dead. And it won't be this time either. His parents we'll take the check and leave the (no knock) out of it.
Pray for me. Like the victim, I'm licensed to carry with no criminal history and will use my weapon on anyone breaking into my home. Just because someone shouts "police" doesn't make it so. That's how Kim Kardashian got robbed.

That way there can be no crooks hiding behind the badge in order to get into your home to exact murder and mayhem. But, the victims of (no knock) go for the quick check, because it's easier and because perhaps (gov't) is using that edge (you get the check, (no knock) stays, deal?).
(no knock) is and always has been an American tragedy. It's humiliating to even have it on the books.

A police officer in Georgia has been placed on administrative leave after shooting multiple innocent people while firing at an alleged car thief.
The Columbus Police Department issued a press release Monday explaining the situation.
The press release did not mention the name of the officer or the alleged thief.
On February 7, the officer was investigating a vehicle in the area of Riverland Drive that was suspected of being stolen.
The driver of the vehicle drove toward the officer in an attempt to flee the scene. The officer then pulled out his weapon in the direction of the suspect and fired.
The suspect was able to flee the scene and elude the police. Police later found individuals who were struck by gunfire. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate the incident.

On March 14, 2009, Stallworth struck and killed 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes while driving drunk. He ultimately pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter and faced 15 years in prison, according to NFL.com. However, Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail but just served 24 days, according to CNN

Testimony from victims alleged really horrific, long-term acts of sexual abuse and rape of people Strain was close to, including relatives and friends. Strain was also found guilty of bribery and fraud related to a kickback scheme involving the labor of incarcerated people -- a plan that basically involved creating a puppet company involving friends and relatives to “purchase” the labor people incarcerated in Strain’s jail and provide Strain personal profits from the arrangement. (He will be sentenced for this case on March 9.)
Strain was sheriff from 1995 through 2015, which means people elected him four times. One local outlet framed it as a “rise and fall.” Is it though? Or is this a story that is more about the people attracted to sheriffs’ offices and law enforcement more generally?
Strain did after all say that suicidal people in jail needed to be “caged like animals.”
In addition, local Memphis news told the story of a white Shelby County sheriff’s deputy named Brian Beck charged with the rape of a 14-year-old, who was granted a plea deal with no prison time. This came from the same Shelby County District Attorney, Amy Weirich, who had no problem charging a Black woman who accidentally voted despite her ineligibility – because of incomplete and missing paperwork; Pamela Moses lost at trial and was sentenced to six years in prison.
In light of multiple other sheriff/ sheriff deputy sex crimes, I idly wondered, how common is this, and thus I Googled “sheriff sex crime” and got pages and pages of this.
