Whats to say Russia will stop at the Ukraine? The best thing to do if we do nothing is ask Ukraine to laydown arms for a peacefull surrender. The Democrats wont ever get elected again but we’ll avoid a nuclear war. I dont think Putin cares who was in office to invade but he picked a perfect time.
He's not invading a NATO country.

I don't think it happens under Trump. Didn't the troop build up start almost immediately after Joe took office? Probably not coincidental.

Regardless, this does nothing but help sleepy Joe's miserable poll numbers. Great distraction and if our troops get involved 'Merica loves war time presidents.

Trump already congratulated Putin. We lucked out with Biden.

Who knows, Trump might have even aided Putin in invading Ukraine.

He would have just washed his hands of the situation like he did with the Kurds.

Russia will not be shutting down the pipelines, but I would bet that these pipelines will not be delivering gas either.

Were I Ukraine, I would be blowing the out of the Russian gas pipelines going through that country. Punishes the EU for not doing more, and Russia for invading.

Large critical infrastructure like that is a prime insurgent target in any low-level conflict.
Ukraine's military ain't gonna do spparently

We'll see. I would guess that if they were to blow them, they would wait until the last minute.

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, however, tweeted the "war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns regarding Ukraine’s becoming a member of NATO, which would mean US/NATO forces right on Russia’s border
They're already right on Russia's border.

IMO, too early to really charactorize Russian losses as "heavy", but this was not a surprise attack, and Ukraine has been preparing for years.

The first casualty was Putin's reputation as a cautious risk taker. Russians counted on him for that, and I am sure a lot of them are deeply shocked to have been proven wrong. Putin's control of his internal security apparatus will keep him in power. The only other thing we can be sure about is that Trump will keep sucking his .

Why did Putin invade Ukraine under Obama and what did Obama do after Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula?

Why did Putin decide to invade Ukraine under Biden’s administration?
Because Trump was giving Putin everything he wanted? Wonder why that was?

"That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen," Trump said. "There were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're gonna keep peace all right."
I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of Ukraine, Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said. "So, Putin is now saying, 'It's independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' "
The gift that keeps on giving. With such strong statements, how could anyone think this super strong leader was compromised?

Everything is not black or white and you know this. But you will continue with the lawyer schtick.

    Strong on foreign policy.

    Weak on Covid response.

Putin and all other world leaders knew that Trump was somewhat of a coo-coo bird. That fear can work to your advantage.

So this ish does not happen if cheeto man were in office, imho.

& I'm still a "rootin' for Pootin'" to give that aforementioned order and "pull the trigger".

Anything to make every day that sucker squats in the White House a miserable one.

    Trump President.
    Not Clinton.

Looks like you got what you wanted.

Trump's sucking isn't really ambiguous. It is in full color closeup, with loud slurping sounds.

This helps him and the Democrats, though.

Now they can blame record inflation and all their myriad of problems on the conflict.
