making Zelensky a hero and crying about the fact Russia is invading a free democratic country is quite ironic to say the least. Zelensky ain't no saint, he shut down media, imprisoned opposition leaders, tried to contol public opinion. Zelensky has been elected supported by a clear oligarchy like Putin and was facing same issues to put them under control. You can support Ukraine and Zelensky effort to resist Russian invasion without being a massive hypocrite and presenting Ukraine leader as a white knight.

What sets apart Zelensky and Putin is just the size of their respective countries and military force... I don't see Zelensky being a better human being than Putin at this stage, only a younger version.

If he wanted to say they both run countries that are horribly corrupt he got that. But Zelensky is taking on an impossible job. The most he could have done was make a small move towards a democracy. He is there as a small stepping stone, you dont throw oligarchs and Russian funded opposition out in one term with one president. This has to be small steps. This is why Ukraine could not possible be accepted into NATO, they dont come close to meeting the criteria NOW.

What it tells you is he does not have control of that country or his government's various ministries that were a mess when he came in.
Huge surprise if you look at the history of that country for the last 20 years. You just dont walk into a country like this elected and change the huge inertia that is ALREADY in place.
