These things are not really very easy to use, but the Russians have a LOT of ADA and SAMs in their troop mix.

The irony is that this stuff is the most likely to be abandoned because it is useless in the fight against UKR, but priceless for UKR to blunt the Russian airforce.

I think the russian crews also know how useful it is to UKR. The fact that these things are being captured intact, with no attempt to scuttle it, says volumes about the motivation of the crews abandoning them.

Not too bad if the real intent is to take black sea access, part of the East, and let the landlock part exist as an economic hole, in 15 days
The real intent was tipped by the moron running Belorus.

For how long? Situation should calm down by then. Warsaw (central-east), Kraków (south-east) and Gdańsk (north) are must visit.

Overall I'm not being told by relatives of anything that would jeopardize a vacation.
Not sure when/if to visit Poland. Still trying to pin down travel plans, there is a lot to coordinate, as our plans have to sync up with wifes coworkers who are also going to Greece.

My friends who don’t speak Polish, this one is for you.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for 10 days. In a bit more than a week 1 300 000 Ukrainians fled the country, mostly women, children, elderly. Same number of people asked for asylum in EU during the whole year 2015.
10 days. This is a humanitarian crisis on a scale that Europe has not seen since WW2.
In less than two weeks 700 000 Ukrainian refugees fled to Poland. And Poland welcomed them.
If you know me, you know I am not a big fan of my country. Poland has been acting like an ass quite often, especially when it comes to dealing with refugees. There is a lot to criticize and there will be a lot in the future, no doubt about it. But this time the Poles have got it right.
In 10 days hundreds of private flats, houses and hotel rooms have been provided, free of charge. Couches and mattresses have been offered, as well as food, clothes and money. Trucks and private cars carrying sleeping bags, meds and meals are coming to the Polish-Ukrainian border. On their way back, they bring refugees. There are hundreds of volunteers working 24/7 on major train stations and bus terminals, helping the refugees with everything from finding a shelter to buying plane tickets or claiming asylum.
I am writing this not to boast, but to ask for your help. We have miraculously managed to provide a makeshift safety net, but it can only hold for so long. There is more people coming.
Please, if you’re able to donate, do that. If you don’t know who to support, here are some suggestions:
Polish Humanitarian Action, one of the biggest Polish NGOs which has been helping refugees around the world since the war in Yugoslavia, fund for Ukraine:
    https://www.pah.org.pl/wplac/?form=ukraina...
Doctors Without Borders who has just dispatched their teams to Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia
    https://www.doctorswithoutborders.or...ntries/ukraine
Chlebem i Sola, an activist group created in 2015 r, has been helping refugees in Poland, organizing protests, educating, fighting anti-refugee propaganda
    https://m.facebook.com/nt/screen/...
Ukrainian House in Warsaw, created to integrate and support Ukrainian migrants, now working 24/7 finding shelters and other help to the refugees
    https://ukrainskidom.pl
Fundacja Ocalenie - an NGO supporting refugees on multiple levels: providing shelter, psychological help, lawyers, education, etc.
    https://en.ocalenie.org.pl
Polskie Forum Migracyjne - an NGO providing psychological and legal support free of charge, since the begging of the war they have been operating a free hotline in Ukrainian and offer trainings for parents, teachers and psychologists on how to help the children deal with traumatic experiences.
    https://forummigracyjne.org/donate
Stowarzyszenie Interwencji Prawnej - legal experts, helping refugees and migrants, fighting discrimination in Polish and European courts, reviewing bill proposals (including the upcoming one concerning Ukrainian refugees)
    https://interwencjaprawna.pl/
Faber - a human rights organization from Eastern Poland with expertise in humanitarian aid. They operate a hotline in Ukrainian, provide psychological support for refugees and Poles who host them.
    https://www.hf.org.pl/ao/1376-wesprzyj.html
PAH, Fundacja Ocalenie, Chlebem i Sola, Polskie Forum Migracyjne, Stowarzyszenie Interwencji Prawnej and Faber are all also helping refugees on the Polish-Belarussian border.
You can also look up UNHCR, Red Cross or humanitarian aid organization in your country.
If you’re not able to donate, please let others know. Ask your government what they are doing to help. The EU countries have already agreed to give one year residency permits to Ukrainian refugees, that can be prolonged for another year, hopefully more countries will follow.
Is Polish and EU willingness to accept Ukrainians but not ppl from Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria a sign of double standards? Sure. Does that make the needs of Ukrainian refugees any less valid? no.
    Xx
    Emilia

They won't last if that's all the Ukraine they're going to take. What are they're going to do, build a wall?
It's your theory that they just want the south and east, you tell me.

[current bull Russian propaganda talking point #2]
    ----------------------------------------

And you still believe US governments lies that russia will invade anyday now
    Lemming
Aint no invasion gonna happen. [bull talking points omitted for brevity-RG]
Regardless there will be no russian boots on ukranian soil. All this invasion talk is propaganda for internal US consumption.
    ...
I stand by my call. Russia wont invade ukraine anytime soon. Their invasion is not imminent as re US claims.
    ...
    Cheers
There wont be any invasion. Russia will discoose their next steps to the public in response to NATO rejection of their proporsals.
[bull russian propaganda talking point omitted, because Putin, that's why-RG]
If you check Putins speech he clearly says all this has been planned months in advance. They are just executing the plan now.
[bull russian propaganda talking point omitted, because Putin, that's why-RG]
When how and where is all up to Russia. My guess is this will go slowly and methodically. Like a Boa constrictor.

This is gonna b over in 3- 5 days niglets [tweet about massive column of russian trucks]
[sound of an army that sucks ass intensifying for SEVEN days]

They have now started to walk back from their earlier position. That they cannot win has started to sink in.

Seems to be Urkanians are angry enough that UKR will probably not accept anything other than full withdrawal at this point. Crimea? dunno.

I pretty much see Putin's point. We would be pretty pissed off if Mexico and Russia hooked up and started putting troops on our southern border. That's what admitting Ukraine to NATO would be like.
You will have to live this down for a long, long time. Brainwashed by Russian gaslighting about NATO.

An official with the Ukrainian government blasted Joe Biden and Democrats saying, "If Democrats weren't such p***ies in foreign policy, this might not have happened."

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official told The Daily Wire that "the Obama-Biden administration has refused lethal aid to Ukraine for a long time."

"It was Trump who was the first to provide some Javelins to Ukraine, then Biden started sending Javelins in mass just before invasion. But too little, too late," the official said.

"Biden's first step in office was to lift sanctions on Nord Stream 2. Now he applies them heavily. Now it's too late," he continued.

"If Democrats did not play into the weak policy of not sending weapons to Ukraine and lifting sanctions on Nord Stream 2, Putin would probably think twice or three times."

"Also, we never understood why would Biden say that no U.S. troops would be involved," he added. "Even if he did not intend to, why say it when no one asked? At least [he] could have speculated on the possibility to deter an attack."

    Sycophants

"That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen," Trump said. "There were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're gonna keep peace all right."
I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of Ukraine, Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said. "So, Putin is now saying, 'It's independent,' a large section of Ukraine. I said, 'How smart is that?' "
[QUOTE=reek[I think NATO is obsolete. NATO was done at a time you had the Soviet Union, which was obviously larger - much larger than Russia is today. I'm not saying Russia is not a threat. But we have other threats. We have the threat of terrorism. And NATO doesn't discuss terrorism. NATO's not meant for terrorism. NATO doesn't have the right countries in it for terrorism.[/QUOTE]

Now I know a lot about NATO - NATO is obsolete, and the reason it's obsolete is because of the fact they don't focus on terrorism.
I don't mind being at their side, with respect to the Ukraine. But why should we always be out front? How many times can we be out in front on these issues?
