Nets definitely got better after trading away Bin Harden, but I still don't see them as the favorites tbh. IMO its:

    1. Suns
    2. Dubs (if Klay/Donkey aren't done)
    3. Bucks
    4. Nets
    5. Heat

With the Grizz and Celtics having an outside shot.
What about Philadelphia? I think they might have a chance too if Harden is healthy. Harden won't be the number 1 option, he'd be 1B at best, and if he's physically OK in the playoffs, I think they'll have a shot.

Normally I agree, but I am a dominant big man fan, and Joel is that. This will be the first time Harden (if healthy) isn't the man since before his Rockets days. He might actually do good without the pressure on him. I'd easily put them in the Celtics/Grizzlies tier. You don't think they have any chance at all, not even a slight one?

    NO

and to be honest, only 3 numbers should have been retired....44, 50, 21

every other player should have been in the Spurs Ring of Honor....of course the main 3, plus Manu, Tony, Mitc , Silas, Kenon, Elliott, Avery, Moore, Bowen, Robertson, Gilmore, Mills, Coyote

Barring injury, it’s looking like Patty’s gonna get himself another ring this year.

BKN is the team to beat imo. They look damn good and they don’t even have Simmons yet. Once he replaces Bruce Brown in the lineup, it’s a wrap. Nobody can match their offensive firepower when they’re healthy.
with how accurate you have been in the Spurs game threads, this basically means the Nets will be out of the playoffs before the ECF

Mills has been ice cold lately anyways, as he hasn't hit double-digit points since March 21. What a great teammate though

I love Patty, but yeah...we've seen that story before. Would start off the season red hot...then just kinda wanes to the point where he is a net negative because he gets abused on defense.

He's proven with Australia that he can score in bunches when he is a primary option but no NBA team is going to base their offense around Patty Mills.

That 2014 run was incredible though, dude went Super Saiyan 2 in the Finals.

    As a player?

As for the jersey thing, I really like Patty as a person, but I don't think they should retire someone's jersey based on how good of a person he is. I wouldn't mind seeing him back with the Spurs in some capacity.

Yes, the retired numbers lose meaning when you start including everyone.

I change my stance. Now that Manu is in the HOF, we can include his number. When Tony goes in, we can include his number.

So once all of the HOF stuff is over, we should only have 5 retired jerseys......44, 50, 21, 20, and 9

put everyone else is the Spurs Ring of Honor

Now the only other number I would retire besides those 5 if I were running the Spurs would be 2! and he would definitely be in the Ring of Honor. Afterall, the Coyote is one of the best sports mascots ever.

I like patty, good teammate, good community guy, I even liked his HEB commercials, but I think his best days as a player are behind him. Maybe as a scout or assistant coach. Would be a good PR move by the spurs.
