And on top of that their economy has been shrinking in the past 5 years... the longer this goes on, the more ugly things are going to get there economically.
On a side note, is it time to relegate tanks to museums alongside chariots? They have very limited tactical advantage these days largely thanks to UAVs, and have been rendered completely ineffective unless you're willing to put boots on the ground to defend them...
That has pretty much always been the case with tanks...they required infantry ground support. They are still OK in terrain like we encountered in Iraq but with the new hand held tank destroyers they are ed in more wooded/urban environments like Ukraine without a 2 kilometer "safe zone" provided by infantry support. It's just too easy to sneak up and shoot and run with the javelins etc.

If the US is really sending switchblades the Russians are about to really get their asses kicked. They are bad to the bone. Used properly they can kill their resupply convoys from 6 miles away.
