A “self-described former restaurant manager and Army National Guard veteran living in rural Virginia” named Jacob Creech was behind the bio lab conspiracy theory, which has been roundly debunked, became another tool of Russian propaganda to justify the deadly invasion of Ukraine.

The Anti-Defamation League “unmasked” Jacob Creech as a social media user, tweeting with the handle @WarClandestine. The conspiracy theory fuel the idea that Russian airstrikes were targeting “U.S. Biolabs” in Ukraine.

Twitter suspended the account, but the theory was already out of the bottle and was quickly echoed by Tucker Carlson, Steven Bannon, and Russian state propaganda.

After the ADL published its report, Creech appeared on Alex Jones’ InfoWars where he both confirmed his iden y and his part in helping promote the bio lab conspiracy theory.

The ADL report details that Creech “has repeatedly invoked ‘Q’ over the years,” although he has more recently distanced himself from the QAnon conspiracy, but has "called for various public officials to be executed.”

A Ukrainian firm also developed a laser-guided 122-millimeter s called Karasuk that works with the army’s D-30 towed guns and 2S1 tracked howitzers.

Any drone or spotter on the ground with a laser-designator can sparkle a target. It’s unclear which of Ukraine’s drones—the army flies both custom-made military models as well as off-the-shelf civilian types—routinely carry laser-designators.

The army’s TB-2s for sure have designators. Ukrainian industry has developed several compact lasers for integration in stabilized sensor gimbals, but it’s not obvious the military quickly can add these to civilian drones.
