We had ONE of the three do one season as a full time assistant, and not come back. I think they’re best as home based teaching assistants. None of them live in Brooklyn.

Hard for me to say if Brent would be a good coach. I don't see him as the successor, though. I have no idea, but my wildcard pick is still Lloyd Pierce. There isn't going to be anyone that can come close to Pop's resume, so unless someone like Doc is fired and they get excited about that, I don't see any obvious choices.

If Pop comes back, I'll beat this drum like I have for years ... But time to bring in an experienced older coach for him to chill with that can help teach these children coaches

No more Becky frees up an assistant spot for ...

Alvin Gentry. Has worked with Pop, has San Antonio ties, old enough that he will no longer be credible as a long term replacement. No longer the Kings head coach

I think Pop comes back while Becky gets experience being a HC and she eventually comes back to take over in a year or two.

Probably get a bargain on Frank Vogel. Do you think he'd help us get LeBron to come play here?

Brent seems to be too goofy to be a coach. He is fine where he is at. Gentry or Mike Brown would be awful. My guess is that the Snyder rumors are true especially if he may have turned down an extension as rumored. Pop will coach his last season next year and Snyder will take over for the 2023-2024 season.

Pop should have been fired long ago. Hes one of the worst coaches in the Nba. The franchise just doesnt have the balls.

    i agree...

i think pop would be a better coach to a team with more talent (like the nets) than a rebuilding team.

    Budenholzer. The younger.
He'll be ready about the time Pop is finally willing to step aside.

Jay Wright is highly regarded for a reason. He gets today’s players but yet see what theyre lauded for. Team play in. Player buy in. Good defense.

Spent the last couple years with Pop on the beach where they grew close.

Wright takes the year off. Pop coaches one last year, Wright takes over Next May.

I was thinking about starting a thread and asking if anybody had seen anything about who is going to replace Becky. With above Borrego news, we may have some grist for the rumor mill.

Borrego was an OK coach but I feel we would need a higher profile coach to replace Pop. Quinn Snyder, Steve Clifford, or Kenny Atkinson. These 3 have a a history of coaching young players. My pipe dream would be Steve Kerr, but he is going to coach in Golden State as long a Pop has here.

Quin Snyder might be out of a job by this time next week if Utah gets bounced in the First Round. But he ain’t gonna wait around for a year or two to see if Pop retires. He’ll prob have another offer shortly after waiting if/when he’s canned.

Yeah, & JB may also be picked up soon, too, either as a HC or an assistant! Snyder may end up in Charlotte to replace JB, unless.... the Spurs hire him on as an assistant coach, to replace Becky's position. IF this happens, then we can connect the dots.
