You can still wear a mask.

Most people I see wearing them have the useless face decoration variety.

This is true. My office manager wears one of those ty disposable paper masks because "some people here aren't vaccinated" like being vaccinated is the golden ticket to immunity.

gaiters are more or less useless, but cloth masks and surgical masks do provide *some* protection, especially so if others are also masked.

This said all the CDC can do is clean, and CC's like why is Biden arguing that?
Sanitation means removing trash and disinfecting surfaces, the CDC isn't actually allowed to mitigate disease. Few people were aware of that before this ruling.

Pretty soon your side will start banning masks, that's the natural progression.

Conservative hurt feelings about ugly COVID masks must be assuaged; failing that, others must suffer.

The timing of this is bad for Biden because, as I understand it, the decision isn't just that the mask mandates should be lifted now, it's that the President doesn't have the authority to call for a mask mandate. That should absolutely be appealed, but to do so now looks like you're calling for the current mandate to continue.
If its appealed the conservative courts ruling on it will just set precedent that can be used in the future. I mean he's not appealing it to some 6-3 leftwing court or something.

It's the 11th circuit that'll be hearing the appeal, 2nd most conservative circuit in the country.

He has no idea what he's doing, he just has morons in his administration who have no connection with what the median American wants or thinks.
I guess. I would not have appealed partially as its unpopular now but mainly as its pointless grandstanding given the likelihood it would be turned over. Also, he ran on restoring expertise and so letting the CDC make decisions he could plausibly say he is listening to the experts.

No request for an emergency stay, looks like the pose of helplessness didn't work. The Biden Administration has appealed, as Will pointed out upstream, to the very conservative 11th Circuit court. Will thinks SCOTUS won't take it up after the 11th Circuit upholds, I think the underlying decision is so bad that it might not make it that far.

The received wisdom that masking is wildly unpopular is a misleading, mediagenic narrative.

A new quickfire poll put out by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that 56% of U.S. respondents said there should be requirements to wear a mask on planes, trains or other public transport. Less than a quarter of respondents prefer no requirements, while another 20% don’t give a damn either way.

Look I get not wanting to wear a mask, and I don't think they should be required at this time. But what blows my mind is the conservative hissy fits and belligerence over OTHER people wearing them. They still think masks are to protect the wearer.

It's just weird that the party of Christians is so hostile to the idea of people caring about other people.
