    Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank what ever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of cir stance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scrolls,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Why would the same thing apply to both when one is a rioter, the other is a terrorist?

If the rioter tried to access a restricted federal government area, he would be shot too, and his family wouldn't be en led to any money either.
Not in today's society. The cop would be crucified and they would make a statue out of the thug who 'stood for justice' and died as he attempted to liberate big screen TV's.

New York(CNN)Former President Donald Trump said he no longer has four cell phones identified by the New York attorney general's investigation into the Trump Organization's finances but has turned over his personal phone to be searched as he tries to convince a state judge to lift a civil contempt ruling that so far has cost him $140,000.....

    .....
Trump said he currently has two cell phones, an iPhone he uses for personal matters and another phone he just received from Truth Social, the social media company, that he said he uses exclusively to post content on its website...."

Absolutely, in this same society. I just don't get this complaining. You do know thousands of BLM rioters and protesters were arrested and jailed, right?

In the first two weeks of Black Lives Matter protests more than 17,000 protesters were arrested, largely for nonviolent crimes such as curfew violation.

Some protesters are still dealing with the aftermath of their arrests, charged with hefty sentences or the threat of deportation.

This is another problem with today's right, you overuse the victim card. At some point people see right through it, and stop paying attention.

People that broke the law got their asses arrested, and as pointed out, some of them are still struggling with the aftermath, including convictions, etc (as they should).

Much like the Jan 6th terrorists are also dealing with the aftermath of that in court/jail.

Again, there's apparently some difficulty in the right today to tell apart protesters, rioters and terrorists seeking to overthrow the government.

I think the distinction is pretty clear, and each one of those gets charged by our justice system accordingly...

Breaking into a restricted government area is not being given a chance.

I'm sure you don't have any actual statistics to back any of this up.

Anecdotes in the New York Post don't count.

The only thing in common with all of them is that if you have money, you can get a good lawyer, and then you probably don't have to beg the judge for organic food in prison, tbh
