Unforgiven - 9/10
A little too long, and has hints of Clint’s “one take and let’s go to lunch” style which gives it a lack of polish, but it suits this movie well (as opposed to the Asians in Gran Torino or all of J Edgar). A true classic American western.
I thought the same ing thing![]()
Only thing that could have made the movie better is if he flew his helicopter into a mountain at the end tbh.
Dead Don't Die (2019)
Jim Jarmusch film with Bill Murray and Adam Driver and Chloe Sevigny

Very fun horror movie. Good cameos. Lots of fan service to people who like horror movies. Doesn't take itself seriously.
Can understand why many mouth breathers didn't like it.

Netflix X rated. Will check this weekend.
Ana de Armas’ Marilyn Monroe Movie Becomes First Netflix Original Rated NC-17 for Sexual Content (yahoo.com)
It's not bad but that seemed like a pity Oscar to me.
He's not a elite director or actor. That being said, I like 90% of what he's done. All the early western stuff was pretty great. And then the random one-offs he did...Every Which Way but Loose, Escape from Alcatraz, Heartbreak Ridge. In the Line of Fire, Absolute Power, and Blood Work were highly entertaining 90's films. Trouble With the Curve, Million Dollar Baby also. But Cry Macho was straight trash and an indication that he needs to be done.

Yes, it did seem out of the blue/out of place.
Looking back, it was pretty weak from a Best Picture standpoint. I didn't see Howard's End but saw the others. My favorite of these is A Few Good Men. Scent of a Woman was fine but certainly not better. Crying Game was good in that it was different but not overly entertaining. It was probably pretty easy to say..."Clint's getting old. We need to get him one". Little did they know
Watched a gem of a movie this evening. -Under Su ion- from 2000 with Gene Hackman & Morgan Freeman. Hackman is accused of being a pedophile murderer/rapist of 2 young girls in San Juan, PR.. Freeman is the lead detective. Top shelf plot and execution all along the line. Thomas Jane plays the hot headed detective and drives his scenes quite nicely.
Monica Bellucchi plays Hackman's wife and she is drop dead gorgeous here.
Hackman's speech late in the film about PR and humanity is quite an aside.
Both Freeman & Hackman were executive producers.
A flawless motion picture event.
Ambulance: 3/10
I saw this was added on Pea and I was in the mood for a cheesy action flick, but this one was pretty bad. Michael Bay does a good job with the action scenes as always, but the characters are mostly unlikeable and the plot was pretty weak and ridiculously unrealistic. I also saw that The Northman was also added on Pea , so I'll give that a watch next.
Blood Work was based on a Connelly book, which was pretty good. One of the few without Bosch
The Father - 9/10
Heavy material, but Hopkins just towers over the movie in some of his finest work. Oscar was well deserved.
Film is funny![]()
That was great in the day. I know it probably doesn't hold up. But some good lines in that movie. "Why'd you kill him Billy?" "For hackin on me".
Netflix - "Spider Head"
I'd have thought with Hemsworth and Teller this would have been a fun movie. I thought wrong.

The Man Nobody Knew (2011)
Amazon Prime
Do not watch if American history, Vietnam, and the CIA do not interest you.
Holy crap did I find this enlightening and powerful!
I had no clue all this went on with William Colby. I just heard of his name and thats mostly it.
I learned a tremendous amount. And the personal story is tremendous. This was a strange complex man.
There is absolutely nothing spectacular about this doc, except that it is super informative. Mind blown for me.
1. I wish Colby's son, the person who made this doc, would have put more names under the people who were in the film giving stories concerning his dad William Colby. (I guess I am supposed to know all the people's faces and I dont.)
2. I wish the film did not have such graphic violence and dead bodies during the Vietnam part. (ex. pulling bodies out of underground hiding spots and executions)
3. And I wish somebody would have mentioned this before as I was totally captivated; I was stunned by all of the details brought forth.
I also feel like I totally missed a whole segment of history even though I have watched a number of Vietnam and CIA do entaries.
Wow... I looked up the ratings it got by the supposed experts and it was highly rated. Then how audiences rated and it fell flat on its face.
And by God Im fkn gonna watch this again and keep track of who is who and look up.
Or I am gonna have to watch it with my father and have him give me lectures.
Too good for me not to put up with my father. Then Ill watch it again and look up.
3 viewings might do it.
Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes (2022) - IMDb

Some great home recorded type testimonies as well.
Lies lies and more lies by the Soviet Union.
200,000 estimated killed. Offical govt count put at 31.
Numerous others with birth defects, disabled.
Interesting expose on how corrupt politicians and business people screw the common people per par.
...we're well versed in that screwing, daddy-O.
Started this but felt like the HBO series might have already covered most of it. Whenever there’s a docuseries and a doc, I find myself not watching whatever came out later. Like The Inventor or The Staircase.
"The King's Man"
Honestly, I thought the first one of the series was just ok while the second one was pretty stupid so I almost didn't bother watching this one.
The first thirty minutes of this movie is a drag and almost stopped there couple of decent twists made it entertaining enough to finish. I love WWI back drop but nothing memorable, nothing special in the end.
6/10
Hopkins towers over every film he's in. In Thor he was so far above the rest as Odin, he didn't even belong in the film.
The Black Phone was entertaining, pretty tense. 7/10
