Biden isn't prepared for this. He could easily be the second in bent in a row to lose the election for doing a piss poor job on COVID.

He never "shut it down" as he swore on the Good Book he would. He was/is too busy hustlin' race as Hussein taught him.

Three cruise lines – Princess, Holland America and Lindblad Expeditions – are bringing back mask mandates on some Alaska cruises in response to growing numbers of COVID-19 in the 49th State.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the positivity rate in the state climbed from just above 6% in mid-April to hovering at or above 13% on June 12. At the same time, the news is picking up more stories of Alaska-bound cruise ships seeing higher numbers of COVID-19 cases onboard.

Three cruise lines have responded by bringing back indoor mask mandates.

    Princess Cruises
“In an abundance of caution, masks are required at all indoor locations on northbound and southbound Alaska voyages between Whittier and Vancouver until further notice,” the line said in a statement it shared with TMR.

Princess has seen several es of COVID-19 cases onboard its Alaska ships over the past month. All six ships sailing in Alaska for Princess are in the CDC’s Orange designation, meaning the “CDC has started an investigation and the ship remains under observation.”

    Holland America
Holland America sent a similar message to passengers booked on its open-jaw cruises between Vancouver and Whittier.

“Out of an abundance of caution due to the rise in positive COVID-19 cases throughout Alaska, all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times while onboard, except when eating or drinking or in their own staterooms.”

Of six Holland America ships deployed in Alaska, four are in the CDC’s Orange designation; one is Yellow (reported cases of COVID-19 are below the threshold for CDC investigation); and one is Green (no reported cases of COVID-19).

    Lindblad Expeditions
Lindblad, which operates several small ships in Alaskan waters, had dropped its mask requirements in April at the start of the cruise season. As of May 18, the line reinstated its face covering requirement for indoor spaces, “due to an increase in COVID-19 cases globally.”

    Anecdotal stuff:

Epidemiologist friend attending a cancer conference in Dallas with a bunch of medical doctors was a mess as a significant number of doctors who see patients came down with symptoms and PCR test +

Friend in Austin playing indoor soccer got it most likely on the bench close to other people breathing rapidly. Its now spread through the entire league.

None of these people are getting ill enough to go to the hospital, but because jobs require clean bill of health along with relatives and people you dont want to give it to... big hassle if you get in and actually work closely with other people. Also having to stay away from friends and relatives and no travel. "Pain in the neck" (and respiratory system)

Also reinfection of older folks appears to happen more frequently. This virus, whatever types are being spread now, appear not nearly as dangerous in younger folks as expected, the older folks also appear to get sicker but not being hospitalized and an overwhelming rate.

Welcome to the summer escape from the heat and being indoors.

And I am most happy to say this is a record tenure for me not getting sick at all. "Masks dont work" pure BS. Think I am going to get a second booster and possibly mask up while attending an Austin FC game in Austin this weekend. Hot as so we will have to see. Thoughts and prayers for a windy game.

    No...I know. Wasn't implying that.

In Trump's defense, in an election year, this was a death blow (combined with the asinine behavior and tweets). I'm not sure any president, Rep or Dem, would have gotten it right. Which probably would have meant shutting down the economy. Which in hindsight, might not have made much of a difference.
He would have been fine if he even pretended to give a .

    He did give a .
He gave a about completely down playing it immensely, and then time after time, giving out blatantly FALSE information.
Trump had his jollies with his already admitted fondness for disinformation. The idiot enjoyed fooling people.

    Nope.

Why not? I dont mind a possible bolstering. It might not do a thing but so what.
I have never had a problem with any vaccine. And I work closely with other people like me who have not gotten it, never tested positive.
Im not letting my group down, I would rather say I tried everything. Might even stay away from the game. Which will be disappointing.

My omicron symptoms when I tested positive in January were literally the same as my cedar pollen allergy symptoms when I tested negative twice in back to back weeks in December: throat feeling like I was gargling razor blades, a ton of nasal congestion, and a constant feeling of needing to clear my throat.

These symptoms are varying widely I think. The friends who have gotten it just say bad cold congestion. One tested + with the home test 6 days in row after the symptoms had subsided.

CVS will invite you in like they have way too many boosters.
The pharmacist did not hesitate a second when I asked him during consultation.
The rules... are very fluid it appears. Go figure.

But, I dont want to be using up vaccine that is in short supply. It just appears there is glut of vaccine given by treatment. I know a doc who said why not as well...

Wonder if you'd get a surprise bill for that shot later on if you're not in the qualifying group.

For me, mild sore throat for 3 days. Pfizer side effects were way worse.

Shingrix can be an ass kicker for a day or two afterwards. Well worth it because shingles is horrible but I'm not sure I would double up that one up with anything else.

Saharan dust was doing that to me all last week. That bothers me more than any pollen which is weird because they always say it's not an allergen.

They say ba.5 is infecting the lower lungs more than the upper airways, unlike the earlier omicron. If true there will be a lot less confusing it with allergies once it takes over.
