That's kinda interesting...I wonder if that was added this morning in an expanded deal?
He was included in the DJ trade.

On second thought this was probably just to match salaries so they could do this today instead of waiting until the 8th when DJ's salary increase kicks in..
what was so bad about waiting until the 8th and trading him then?
guess this opens up some minutes for Sochan at the C.
Liked him, but he was awful on defense.
I think this dramatically increases the chances of Ca making the training camp roster. I liked SOB and thought he was in for a good year if Jakob were traded. He'll probably be released in ATL. I doubt the Spurs had THAT much value on him, but I do wonder why they felt pressured to give him up rather than wait. They can't even aggregate him now.
Hopefully he can be their new pero antic
It's hard to say...maybe they need the roster spot on a subsequent deal or maybe they planned to waIve Jock anyway and this was a way to do that early and wrap the deal up....

There goes those experiments with Landale as PF. I guess you could still do Zollins/Sochan.
Here comes Jalen Smith. They're signing a replacement Center, right?Or is that too much for the tank?
Damn he would’ve been perfect for the tank with his atrocious defense. Oh well.
I’ll always have the memory of meeting him and his smoke-show girlfriend at the target of 1604 & Blanco![]()
Please do not make Sochan underperform, again because Spurs like players play out of their position
If we move Poeltl I think we could go after Smith on a reasonable deal...he won't really raise our floor and he fits from the prospective of giving the teenagers space to work.
Welp, liked him for his shooting and toughness. Ended up not quite being the athlete needed to be a decent defender.
Including him in the deal now instead of waiting until the 8th maybe means the Spurs want to make a move on a free agent ... don't know, just guessing here.
(Wondering out loud) if we pushed to get this done quickly today because we learned KD was requesting a trade and we didn't want atl to back out and throw those picks to Brooklyn in a deal?
Durant is going to force his prefered handful of destinations. Atlanta likely wasn't it.
He reminded me of Oberto being heady. He needs to be on a cerebral team
I love Jakob but I loved DJ too so I say this sadly but they better trade him for whatever they can get. If DJ didn't fit the timeline Jakob certainly doesn't and yes I understand they were never going to pay DJ
That's probably the reality of it...but if we knew in advance (Mark's connection) we could have pushed it to get ahead of it if didn't know what his list would look like...or possibly (as has been reported and is probably a bluff) Marks said we are sending him to whomever gives us the best package ..so we took thst possibility off the table.

Apparently Jock was frustrated about not getting a lot of playing time and did an Interview about it. I think That’s why the Spurs moved him
