Yeah, something is afoot. Not sure what but something is happening.

You don't give Walker the QO for a few hours during a time when he couldn't even sign it unless there's something going on. Also, they could have kept Jock and possibly saved money by not finalizing the Dejounte trade until the 6th.

Why are they suddenly frantic about clearing cap space? Hmmmm.....
Who are they after or what contract are they taking on.

As long as its not Russ I really could care less what bad contract they would absorb.

He also noted that water is wet and Pop remains both his boss and work daddy.

Interesting. The Spurs are acting -- with this move and the moving up of the Dejounte trade -- like something is about to go down.
So Spurs are not really tanking but getting somebody?

Maybe we're renting out our cap space to help facilitate a KD trade. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

I would not be surprised if Lonnie getting his offer pulled has nothing to do with anything

Could be as simple as his agent hearing things and asking the Spurs to pull it early instead of having to wait around like Cory Joseph

Absorbing a monster deal like Westbrook or Hayward?
Do Lakers have the 1sts that it would take to get us to offload Westbrick for them?

It could be as benign as they were hoping to see if his market was something below the QO so they could preserve him. But Shams says there is “strong” interest (we’ll see!) so maybe they said nah.

    $47M. Wow

At least a couple unprotected picks that are likely to be lotto ones AND at least another unprotected pick swap, or two.

That would be putting us in contention for down the road.

We may be reading too much into this.

(If not, hopefully they're not going after Ayton or some other albatross. Hopefully, just a bad contract or two and draft picks.)

I fully expect PATFO to make a seriously head scratching decision to make us a playoff contender once again.

Right. If anything is going down, it’s a bad contract or contracts incoming, with some more FRPs.

Maybe we’re helping to facilitate the Durant trade?

Would be weird to go after established players after dumping Murray but obvs the two don't have to be connected.

Probably renting space for the stash of picks

The ONLY thing remotely in that vein that I think they would even consider would be Ben Simmons. Everyone has been talking about Kyrie, and Durants recent trade request, and no one’s even mentioned Simmons.

Maybe Marks called in a favor. He may need to use SA to get rid of Durant in a three team deal.

I think Marks resigned during all of the Kyrie drama.
