I hope Murray makes a big impact for the Kings, love his game. Probably the only guy outside of the Big 4 that I would trade for Sochan (would say no to Mathurin, Sharpe, Daniels or anyone that went below Sochan).

Also, Kings being good means less tanking threats tbh.

It’s summer league, but if he keeps it up through the season then this is why I say you don’t overlook older players.
Yup exactly. He’s NBA ready right now and ready to contribute from day 1 imo. For the first time in forever it seems like the Kings made the right pick for Murray over Ivey. I think the Kings desperately need a player like Murray. Just calm, cool, and collective. Compared to the erratic players they have drafted recently.

Gui Santos looked good today. 6’8, 20 yr old out of Brazil. The Warriors got him with the 55th pick. Hard to tell what he is against Summer League compe ion but he couldn’t have made a better first impression.

Nah Sochan would be better. Keegan could be a better scorer, but Sochan would be a better all-around player. Maybe on this draft only Chet is better as far as being all-around. I hate to compare, but yes Timmy is so much better because he’s best all-around than a TMac or Vince Carter who could score more. That’s how I see Sochan, his impact on both sides of the court. And once Spurs develops his Point Forward skills even more, watch out how they redraft this batch years from now. Spurs really got something special on Sochan.

Yeah l love Sochan and he was my guy since about Feb this year. I would probably struggle to pull the trigger on a Sochan for Keegan Murray trade too if I think about who’s going to have more impact on winning, despite what I said a few hours ago

I like Sochan a lot but you’re fooling yourself if you think he was higher on the Spurs draft board than Keegan

All the people who mocked the Kings for taking Murray over Ivey could wind up looking like idiots. I know it's easy to laugh at the Kings, but Murray had the highest floor in the draft imho.

Yep, thought he would be a really good second round pick. But we decided to trade our SRP... What's done is done.

I didn't like just about any of the smaller guards in this draft. Not Ivey, not Davis (just to bug John B) - they all lacked ability to create with the ball (low A/36, low A/To ratio).

He should be cleared by the time they play but spurs with their ramping up/making sure he’s ready BS might have him miss

He posted a picture on his story today of him dunking not sure if that was a present day picture or not, but I think he will play in the summer league and certainly not miss the entire SL.

    https://www.si.com/nba/spurs/news/sa...-summer-league

During the practices the summer Spurs have held before heading to Las Vegas, the rookies have caught the attention of their peers.

“They’re really good,” Primo said. “Blake is great offensively and defensively. And Malaki is really savvy. He knows how to get to his spots. He’s got some physical attributes that make him pretty special.”

The 3-and-D impact Branham provides will be the foundation of how he makes his impact in the NBA. As for Wesley, he needs to refine his shooting mechanics, but regardless, he's a highly explosive athlete who can make plays in the paint.

“I have been shooting a lot with Malaki, and he shoots the crap out of it,” Joe Wieskamp said. “The thing I like about (Wesley) is he sees the floor really well. There have been a couple of times where he is getting downhill, playing through traffic, and he’s able to kick out to shooters. I really like that about him.”

Branham “knows how to get to his spot”. Same observation I made in the Branham thread. Got ‘eem

The four teams these last two days didn't have much NBA talent on them. Santos looks like a miss for basically everyone with GSW getting a steal.

The Spurs players should do really well, but we'll see.
