The sniff is strong with this one. The previous year, Tyrese Halliburton went 12, so let’s start there.
Give me the others………I’ll wait. This mythical high bar for that pick I also said “ one of the “ clown!

Past 5 years (besides Primo): Jalen Williams, Haliburton, PJ Washington, Miles Bridges. He's 5th out of 5 and the distance to 4th is so large it isn't even funny. Put down the cr@ck pipe
How old are those players again? Bro you aren’t worth the discussion

Primo is not or shouldn’t be a hill to die on. Atl is part of a ing cult or something. You don’t need to worship and die for this dude.

Agreed. There's a lot of middle ground between "he's a scrub who shouldn't get a second contract" and "he's James Harden lite".

He hasn't played well in this summer league, that's true. But his advanced stats in year 1 aren't much worse than those of Dejounte Murray's rookie year. And he was a year younger when drafted.

I can understand revising our assumptions downward some. Just not all that far because it's only been two summer league games.

I hope he improves a bunch between now and training camp, and even more during the season. No point in stressing over it right now.

    - I realize Wiseman, Kuminga and Moody were picked 2nd, 7th and 14th respectively and haven't done anything yet, but it's still embarrassing that they have probably at least 2 higher upside prospects than anyone on a team that's been mediocre - bad for a half decade.

    - Spare me the "he's 19" routine, the notion of Primo as a PG was always asinine. Stop trying to outsmart everyone by forcing him to be something he's not and let him focus on the thing(s) he's supposed to be able to do well before his confidence is shattered.

    - Branham is getting lost in the shuffle in the Primo and Wesley show and because of that he's forcing the action the rare times he's involved. He can't fade into the background, but they also have to make a conscious effort to get him more involved.

    - Love Wesley's confidence, but his tunnel vision/selfishness would make Johnson blush (Branham already can't hide his frustration with him).

Here's to hopefully solid performances from Branham, Primo, and Wesley.
    So much for that. 2-15

The Spurs needed to strike gold with at least one of their four young guys and looks like Wesley is it. Wesley is a lotto talent, possibly top 5 tbh. Just a complete player with an upside that’s through the roof.

Now if Sochan can show something and one of the “vets” on the team can step up…

Tbh Sochan would have shut that down on Kuminga

Kuminga was getting all types of star calls. With the high defensive iq and mind games that Sochan plays, he would have gotten into Kuminga’s head. that guy

I just finished watching the replay. I think Primo will be okay. He is getting to his positions and taking good shots, just not falling tonight. I think he has a lot of poise, and that the game has slowed down on him. Again I’m not worried.

Bad night for Primo, but probably just one of those nights... Also his free throws were horrible, to the point I was wondering if there was anything wrong with his eyes health...

They’re all just 19. Primo’s shooting isnt bad but he def isnt a point guard. We might have something special in Wesley. Next year we’ll have another top 10 pick and tons of first rounders. The spurs will def find a few more Gems the next two drafts. By then the whole team will be between 22-25 and thats when ill expect them all to be at the next level. This rebuild is going to take 2-3 years just to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Primo will atleast be a solid back up sg/sf that can cone off the bench and nail 3s.

He played like crap; it happens to the best of them. Hopefully he comes out tonight and performs better. Any person that experienced success ( definition varies from person to person ) knows the path is littered with peaks and valleys! Remove the emotion and desire to be the smartest in the room; it’s two summer league games! This road is gonna be windy for all of them…..

I had a similar thought during the game in that it would have been interesting to see a Kuminga Sochan matchup.
