I remember reading that a couple of uscp who were on duty overnight between January 5 and January 6th were expecting to be on duty all day the 6th because of the expected violence on January 6th. The overnight guys were expecting to continue on duty throughout the day of the 6th what were told no they aren't needed go on home, only standard level of uscp staffing was required.
We now know that several agencies had communicating among themselves that violence was expected on January 6th.
