Apparently some of these generals are put in harms way on purpose.
Many thinking generals see they can’t just send unwilling ethnic groups to Ukraine.
They have to draw from actual Slavic Russians that don’t personally feel the war “special operation” Start rounding up the young men in Moscow and see how that goes as they are NOT volunteering. Even use the Wagner group because they actually pay mercenaries from wherever.
Putin does not want the largest part of the Russian public to be directly forced to go into Ukraine. Tough position.
